Switched To Sprint

No more Ascend for me. Was a great enrty level phone. Introduced me to Android. Just wanted more from my phone. Android is endless and without a good phone its limited. If Cricket had gave us an upgrade sooner, I'd still have the Ascend for a little while. Got the Samsung Epic 4G. Amazing phone and you get what you pay for !:)

Bye Bye:(

How is the 4G? We don't have it in Wisconsin yet.

The 4G is amazing. It switches from 4G to 3G when the signal drops one or the other. So between the two you'll always have data. I can talk and surf at the same time. Streaming stuff like movies is very solid, no interuption. I can download stuff and stream movies at the same time. The 1GhZ cpu is a must. Everything about the phone depends on its cpu. 2.2 android is great. Pages load as the same on a pc. Whatever plays on the page is what you'll see.

Congrats on the new phone. Just remember it was this lowly phone that got you hooked and don't forget your roots! :-P.

i thought you couldn't talk and surf at the same time on a cdma network. Or are you talking about wifi?

I've been thinking about switching to Sprint and getting the Nexus s 4g or the Evo Shift.

Nooooooo. You can't leave us too. =-O. You will be missed if you do.
Still in the thinking stage. I would really hate to sign a contract, but thats the only way to get a nice phone. I'll probably still be around for awhile. Thanks for the kind words.

I got lucky when I signed with Sprint in that they were offering a $125 credit to a future bill for switching carriers. They also honored my company discount of 25% on my very first bill.

Negative...3G is as slow as Cricket's throttled 3G. Don't know how that is possible since Cricket uses Sprint's towers from what I understand.

Cricket only uses Sprints network for nationwide roaming. They have their own towers in their home areas. My main complaint with Cricket is the 1gb data cap. It's plenty fast before they throttle you. If they were smart they would have a way to buy some extra data. I would pay an extra $10 for another gb. Your 3g speed on sprint doesn't sound right to me. I would go back to the store and see what they have to say about it. You said your wifes phone was faster and she has the same phone. That doesn't make any sense. You might need to exchange for another phone. I know the throttled speed on cricket is pretty slow, so that can't be right.

Her download speeds from the Market were much faster than mine. I've been with Sprint for three weeks so I have another week left before I would be locked in. We are going to the Sprint store later tonight to complain about this phone.
