Hello there Android Forums!

I'd like to make you all aware of a new game that me and my friends at Triolith Entertainment are soon releasing: Wisp!

Wisp is an ambient nordic-inspired puzzle adventure which emphasizes exploration and navigation rather than intense action.

Played the web demo,...great stuff! Started out slow, and I was wondering if there was much of a game in the first several levels. (Don't get me wrong though, good introduction to the game movements and concepts.) Then around level 4 things picked up and it got more challenging and fun. Love the soft soothing music, game art, and the overall feel of the game. I hope the PC experience using the keyboard transfers over to my touchscreen-only DroidX. I'll definitely be checking out Wisp when you release this Friday. Can't wait!

@EightRooks: Hehe, trust me, you ain't the first person to say that.
The big difference between Thunder BANG and Wisp is a planned difference though. We want to differentiate our games as much as we can to see what ultimately works best for everyone. We probably won't create the game for a smartphone, but achieving a high satisfaction rate as we possibly can is still a clear goal.

Thanks for your input! Hope the finished game will impress!

Thing is it's not just a difference in subject matter or anything like that. This feels like much more of a game. Other than the jokey presentation - which I thought was funny, but not that funny - there really wasn't anything to set Thunder Bang apart from the countless other endless runner games out there.

Faults? I think you still seem to be having some problems really visualising the hand-drawn look as a game - I don't think it... completely works in Wisp, either - it's maybe a bit too obvious that put very basically it's a lot of grey blocks with bits bolted on the sides. Still pretty, though, and either way this is definitely a huge improvement in design terms IMO, with the visuals and the audio and the play mechanics coming together to create much more of a solid product than (going to be cruel here) 'Hahaha, dumb superhero is hilarious'.

It's not perfect, but it's something I'm happy to pay for (just bought the full version as I type), and it's really good to see a little team with enthusiasm showing me they're willing to try new things and demonstrate they're learning stuff. (Hope all that makes sense!)

Double-posting to draw attention to what's either a bug or a poor design decision - I come back to the game and I can't pick up where I left off (no other level is selectable even though I've beaten 8/10 on the first world). I don't think anyone wants to fly through every level over again when they've collected all the crystals, as much fun as your game is, so that needs fixing or changing, one or the other.

Aw crap, that's most definitely a bug. I will send this to our programmer right away! Thanks for posting about it, and thank you for the previous comment too! I will forward it to the rest of the team, critique is something we take to heart and reflect upon, good or bad. :)

EDIT: FIXED!

Wisp 1.2 update!

Wisp has now been updated to 1.2!
  • Added Safe Mode, for devices that experience crashes
  • Improved GUI
  • Redesigned some levels
  • Enhanced level beautification

Samsung Galaxy S, Nexu S and Motorola Droid X can now choose 'Safe Mode', which prevents the game from crashing. We added the mode because these devices handheld GUI drawing a bit differently. In-game is not affected by this!

I bought this when I first saw it on Market. Really mesmerizing game. One of the smoothest accelerometer controls I've played, nice graphics, and enchanting music. I go into a trance every time I play it.

Thank you very much! I'm glad you like the game, and your comment sure put a smile on everybody's faces when I told it to them! Tell your friends! :)

We've also got some nice reviews of the game!
