Root How to install ICARUS 1.1 by Isaacj87

hey sorry im a noob but it happens, i have been trying for hours but cant get past the install for the clockwork mod
i have 1st did a permanent root with z4root, i have superuser in the app drawer, i am on cricket.
i followed the directions to a tee
plugged my phone in install the drivers on my xp cpu that pop up when u first plug the phone in, the ones in the small silver box that pops up and says install driver, file transfer, and manuals. installed those restarted my pc.
then i unmounted my sd card formatted it turned off the phone, waited for the battery beacon, hold volume down and the end button while powering on goes to a huawei screen for about 8 seconds while it does, i click fastboot windows, the box pops up n disappears, then i click install recovery windows and the box pops up and says "waiting for device" and now im stuck
i have tried numerous button combos different times to plug it in i even did the vista fix and deleted infcache even tho i have xp
still no luck
any ideas

Is your phone plugged into pc...if so are the correct drivers installed. Sounds like the pc is not seeing your phone.
 
Hey everyone, I've been a reader of these posts/form for a little while now, and you've help me put Icarus 1.1 on my Cricket Ascend. I have a problem with MMS, cannot send and I only get a link to receive them from Cricket. How can I fix this?? Should I use Go SMS pro instead of the stock messaging app in Icarus?

yeah i have the correct drivers installed when you plug the phone in it pops up with huaweis own program to install the drivers and to b doubly sure i click on the huawei drive in "my computer" after plugging it in and click update drivers and check the web for drivers but i am running the most current drivers

the pc sees my phone because i could transfer files back and forth in windows its just the msdos batch file isnt able to transfer data to the phone

anyone else have any suggestions, i have read through many of these posts many videos, many different forums and anyone who runs into this problem apparently just magically gets it one time, but after over 3 dozen attempts and 3 hours of rebooting my phone and pc over and over... still no luck =(
 
I Tryed reinstalling it and the same issue occurred. the 3g on top goes on in the beginning of the boot up then disappeares so i cant use the web. i cheacked my apn settings and there the way there supposed to be

I TRIED TO FORCE UPDATE TO STOCK 5 TIMES ALREADY! IT boots up in chinese and says no sim card inserted! IM LIKE WTF =[ It Has Chinese Apns Instead Of Crickets! It Doesnt Even Have Service At All. No Number Etc,,, Nada! =[[[[[[[[[[[
 
oh no! I remember reading here in these forums someone had done the same thing back when that Chinese version first came out and if i remember correctly they bricked their phone. hmmm... I wonder if they ever got any help here for it. I will help look around for some answers for a bit and see what I can come up with for you. No promises, but 2 heads are better than one right? I'll post back if I find a promising lead....

Ya I Did Too And They Installed The ICARUS 1.1 Mod And They Got The Network Back. Thats What Im Trying To Do But It Just Says No SIM Card
 
ok, have you tried turning off the phone, unplugging it from the computer, and removing the sd card ( i know it says no sim, just bear with me) and remove the battery for 5 Minutes. then replace battery turn the phone back on without the sd card installed. let it boot see what error it gives then. then do it over and put card back in. make sure it is unplugged from computer/charger during all this.
 
Surprisingly i did and nothing happened. i flashed back to icurus 1.0 and i got my MIN Back. I Want To go back to stock tho and when i do it doesnt connect to the cricket network

thanks but i just formated my sd card and flashed to cyanogenmod 7 so im good now :D
 
I know I just posted yesterday, but it is seemingly getting worse. Now I cannot send a longer text or reply to one. Is it just my service or is it something to do with updating with Icarus?? Should there be something entered in the SMS center number under messaging?? Any help would be great. I dont want to deal with their tech support, especially after rooting/Icarus-ing my phone!
 
i ran into a issue....my SMS is not working, i can send them but i can't receive them anymore. i don't know if its the service or the phone or the icarus? can anybody help me with this problem?

Who is your carrier? It is easier for people to help if you put your info on the side. Is it SMS(text) or MMS(pics)?
 
I have never heard of anyone ever having a problem with sms on any of the roms. It may be a carrier issue. Or maybe no one wants to respond to you. lol just j/k. But yeah it is probably the carrier.

thanks for the help :( it sucks cause my other family members hav metro(but not rooted or hav differents roms) n their txtin is working perfect
