Ohh never heard of that. I got rid of antivirus apps along time ago i think they are worthless battery hogs. Same for battery saving apps and task killers. Glad you got it working.
 
I recently installed icarus mod on my huawei ascend, very nice mod. But i discovered that my contacts and my cricket apps like storefront and mybackup were removed anyway to get those apps back
 
You should have saved your contacts to your sd card or synced them with your google account. The cricket apps were removed, that is the reason for icarus. It is a stripped down improved version of stock. But... i'm sure someone around here has a link to the .apk for those files.
 
You can make backups with CWM. You could n prolly should sync your contacts with google so you will have them regardless of what you do to your phone or what phone u have.
 
Well i'm glad to see you are going through the old threads to find a solution, kudos. Unfortunately, i don't tether, sorry. Hope someone helps.

The problem is most people only comment when they have a problem, they never come back to state the solution so that other people may use it.
 
Well a few of the people who commented on this post are no longer members or have not returned for months. Most problems are not left unanswered. I try to make it a habit to ask people how they resolved their problems.
 
I just tried to update my phone with icarus mod 1.1 and i did everything but the last 2 steps and now its staying on the huawei screen without taking out the battery or sd card , does it means i have to do it all over again and do the two steps..? and

post your help under this topic http://androidforums.com/ascend-all-things-root/320265-ultimate-ascend-customization-guide.html, but sounds like you had a bad flash, but reflash it and after you finish flashing skip the 2 last steps and see if it works...

reflash and when you get to the part where you suppose to format the sdcard dont do it, just reboot system now. let the phone load, once on the main screen power down the phone and take out sdcard and power phone back on, and load up market and let it update itself before putting the sd card back in...

When it says to apply the update when i choose the the rom do i press apply or just press back?
 
I have just finished installing icarious 1.1 and I dont have working 3g. I checked my moble network settings and I think my username is wrong, but it wont let me change it. Im on the cricket network. Can anyone help me out.

did you go to wireless and networks" select "mobile networks"and choose your carrier.
 
Yes, but I had only one option and it was cricket. The 3g seemed to be working long enough to sync my contacts with gmail. then i just lost my 3g icon and cant seem to get it back.

did you tap it to put a dot in the selection, you can also try putting it in airplane mode for a minute and than turn off airplane mode, or tap wifi on and off a few times...might have to restart the phone and see if its works or not, also fixing permissions in recovery might help.
