I've just uploaded my first Android game (ad-supported). Feedback and bug reports would be greatly appreciated!

You score points by linking letters on a grid to spell words, where the letters used are replaced with new letters. If you score enough points in 2 minutes, you're rewarded with more time and the target score increases. To get a big score, you need to aim for long words and make strategic use of wildcard and bonus tiles. My high score at the moment is 650.

I'm planning to polish the presentation more and add online high score tables soon but I think the core gameplay is good. I'd be happy to answer any questions about how I developed the app and could do some testing myself in return.

I was curious as to what your highest score in wordoid is now? Or what is the highest score you have heard of?

I absolutely love this game! My current high score is 765. Not sure if I can beat it. :)

Hi! Glad you're enjoying the game. I managed to up my high score to about 800 but I have a friend who can get about 1200 which I don't think I'll be able to beat. :) I'm planning to add online high scores at some point so I'm sure we'll see some even higher scores.

Hi Sean,
I'm not a gamer (Angry Birds is the only game I have spent any considerable time on) but Wordoid has become an obsession! I've plateaued at 175 and I'm wondering if you can provide any pointers to routinely chain longer words.

What can you offer in the way of strategy for us struggling newbies? Maybe a separate menu item " Zen of 10 dollar Words: Wordoid on speed" would be in order :)

It is great game - I keep seeing words of names of people in my past - kind of a stream of memories of times gone by. Now I have to keep playing to beat 1200...

Sean - you are really creative...

I'm glad you like the game! Here are some tips I find useful:

- If you see a chain that forms "ed", "er", "ers", "ing" or "ings", leave these tiles until you can join another word in front to form long words easily.

- Likewise, before you submit a word try to lengthen it with common word endings like "s" and "y".

- Save up the orange bonus tiles and use several at once to get a big score when you're running out of time.

- If you can't see any decent words, get some new tiles by finding low scoring three letter words. You can use this strategy to help you find the tiles you need to spell a long word that is missing a letter or two.

- If you only need a few points to finish the current level, try to save any high scoring words you see until you level up.

It would be great to read some tips from other players too. :)
