According to the Facebook Page, it'll be the 16th mate.

Hey guys, firstly we want to thank you all for being so patient about the Gingerbread update. We’ve been pushing this really hard and are pleased to announce that we are aiming to have the HTC Gingerbread update for unlocked HTC Desire HD and HTC Incredible S models available on 16th May 2011. For those waiting for their specific operator update, rest assured that we’re working very closely with each operator to get this just right and will update you as soon as we possibly can. Once again, we really appreciate your support and patience on this

In case you don't have Facebook.

Also, is the ROM linked to the original with the dodgy wifi?

Thank You everyone, but I think it would be best if i waited for the official OTA update to be released, that way I know that it will be the right version, and it doesn't have any chance of messing up my DHD.

Also it's easier to wait for the real one.

Does anyone know how I could get HTC Sense 3.0, i know it's only being released on the new high end HTCs (Sensation), but surely the DHD is a high end device.

Thank You :)

I'll wait for the OTA as well! As for the Sense 3.0, DHD won't get it /officially/. The Sense on top of Gingerbread is version 2.1. Maybe they'll add some "sensation" for a 2.3.4 update, who knows! They guys at XDA are working on a Sense 3.0 ROM for the DHD, but as far as I know they are still on BETA stages.

I did the manual update a couple of days ago, using the same file.

Before I installed the HTC Sync application, it wouldn't recognise the phone, so I installed HTC Sync which included the drivers Windows needs to connect to the device. I did the update while it was in HTC Sync connection mode as well - took about 10 minutes.

What do you think about it? Is the WiFi ok?

My DHD offerd OTA update to Gingerbread yesterday without my asking. I plugged into power and a good WiFi signal and all went smoothly it seemed, BUT!
1. Kindle for Android had a heart attack and I had to reload my books.
2. PC sync wouldn't and repair did not help, already fully updated. Uninstall; restart PC; reinstall latest HTC Sync - now OK.
3. Mail has gone barmy! Keeps saying I have 42 or 35 or 29 or whatever new emails - not true. I have about 20 emails total in my inbox I think and have recived less than 10 new ones today. When I open email it displays a total of 2 emails (old ones) then maybe all 20 or maybe it shows no emails. Usualy corrected by making a new selection in the folder list; show 'All Inbox' or 'All Messages' whichever is selected, change to the other.
