Netflix Official Available on Incredible Through the Market

I was just coming over here to post this! I've downloaded and started it running. It works pretty well, but I suspect this will be the reason I get low space notifications regularly.

After loading it I already had to clear a bunch of things, but I figure it was time to do that anyway.

Ouch! Installed it, opened it up and immediately got the low space message. This could get ugly!

Indeed it could. But is it the fault of the application, or that we simply enjoy too many apps on our phones? :D I know I uninstalled some that I just haven't used as a result of this, but if I watch more, will the cache/data storage increase to a point that makes clearing items/caches a very regular occurrence? No idea. Yet.

Wish I still had friends in development at NFLX so I could ask this question...

if your having trouble downloading from the link like i was (said i didnt have a phone associated with the account, but its the whole reason i got the account and the only gmail account i have, oh well, one more reason i hate gmail) search 'netflix inc' in the market and its the 3rd one that pops up.

After three tires I got it to download and install. First time it failed to install, second time it forced closed everytime I opened it and the third time it finally worked. Now just to find some way to make my gTab report itself as an Incredible so I can stream stuff to it. The app installs and I can log in but it will not stream any content. But this is still awesome anyway. I'm glad they finally released it.

It is the data/data folder and its 135mb cap causing the issue, so whatever apps you may zap need to be ones that suck up data.

The biggest data/data folder hogs are Google Earth, some social apps and Netflix takes over 16mb, so over 10% of total space in the data/data folder.

My Inc is rooted, so I can see what the apps fill in the data/data folder and uninstall them, accordingly. I had to make space for Netflix too.

I'm probably the last one on the planet without a Netflix account, and I'd like to try this app...anybody know whether it turns into a hassle when you want to cancel out after trying the one-month free trial?

I have had an account and a canceled before. No hassle at all really. They will send you emails from time to time offering you deals to come back.

So what's the solution? I'm having this same issue. Got the low space warning. Removed about 7 or so apps. Didn't help. Moved Netflix to SD card. Didn't help. When the warning was in my status bar, it wouldn't go away, and, more importantly, I wasn't able to sync with Google, so I couldn't get mail or anything. Very frustrating. I uninstalled Netflix and the error went away immediately.

Though the Instant Queue features and streaming are great, but I'm a little disappointed that there's no access to other parts of the Netflix account. There's no way to access your mail-disc queue or to add to it from the app.

I thought this was weird too. Luckily there are still a lot of third-party apps that will let you do this. (The Movies app from Flixster being the most useful)

If I recall, the issue here is not so much the apps themselves as the data they cache. So if you go to Settings - Applications and go through the applications and clear their data (Select one, and then select clear data) it will free up space in the folder that has the stupid cap on it. I've only ever got this once, so this may not be the whole story.

Follow up to that: is this an HTC thing? All Android phones? Just the Incredible? It's something I'd definitely like to avoid in my next phone, and if that means not buying an HTC that's all I'd need to hear.

I am freaking stoked! Now I can watch movies anytime, anywhere. Only drawback with Netflix is that much of the on demand material is old stuff and not much new releases available.

Bookmark this website. It will help you get the latest and trending movies for instant streaming on netflix:
instantwatcher.com - Streaming Movies and TV to watch instantly on Netflix

and you can add the movies to your instant queue from the website. Works well. You sign into you netflix account on the site, the most recent movies are listed on the left side, click on one, the next screen there is a button that says "queue", that's all you have to do to add it.
