Help Kies Question to install new firmware

I read today thread saying there is a new firmware update so i went ahead and downloaded the Kies. I plugged in the SII and it downloaded the newest firmware and then it quit itself. I started Kies again but I dont see my phone on the list on the left. I tried install Drivers on the Tool Tab, but it was unsuccessful. So is there a way to check did it actually update the firmware or not from the phone?

On your phone go to Settings/About Phone
Now look down near the bottom; you have Baseband version, Kernal version & Build number.
If it has changed you should now see the updated firmware ~ as in KE1, KE2 or KE7?

An alternative way is to go to your dialer and dial *#1234#, it will list all versions of firmware for you. PDA, CSC, etc.
