Favorites tab changed to useless GB

So, since the new GB update the thing that I hate the most is the favorites tab. That is how I made 95% of my calls. NOw it doesnt actually do anything. It only has three contacts under Most Likely, only one of which I actually call. How do I get contacts in the bottom area marked Favorites??

Anybody figured this out yet?

If you go to the contact that you want to add and hold down on a couple of seconds there should be a menu that pops up and there will be a option that says add to favorite

Long press empty space in home screen....shortcuts.....dialer....favorites

Cool. That helps a lot. Wish it would have stayed the same as Froyo. That way top calls were always first...

i think he's trying to point out that he never had to do that on froyo..i appreciated that functionality as well

wow so much hate.
i dont even remember that option before...i marked my top 15 or so FAVS about a year ago when i got my original Droid....then they carried over when i got my DX by simply signing in. and now i have the 3 most recent contacts up there as well.

also battery life increased for me.

Sounding to me like Gingerbread is all graphic fluff and little improvement. I like the phone dialer Favorites in Froyo. May just stick with it.
