Help Help! Phone laggy, goes in and out of service, and gps issues

So this is my forth Epic 4g (first 2 had speaker issues). This one is refurbished and is having the same issues which seemed to come about after the froyo update (same thing happened on previous epic 4g). It's laggy in between exiting apps and returning to homescreen, gps takes forever to pick up signal, and the service goes in and out often. I have done master resets and nothing has helped!

Any ideas? Im sure they are just going to give me another refurb if I take it to Sprint.

I agree that it shouldn't
Before root I wasn't having any of the problems your experiencing though so I'm not sure if its just samsung or what. Maybe your just getting a bad lot of them?

My phone was never real laggy or had any gps problems before I rooted so I can't comment on why yours isn't going right for you
You can try to root and see if it makes it a better experience for you?

Could always try a hard reset through the recovery mode. Phone off, press and hold volume down+camera+ power in that order until the phone turns on. You should see a whole new screen with blue lettering. In there you will want to clear data and the cache 3x. You will lose your stuff so you will want to back it up before doing this. Good luck!
