Root Please Help

I've gotten myself into a little pickle. I somehow made it to where my phone screen is blank it turns on I can hear the metro pcs boot screen when I press the vol up button it beeps when I press the vol down button it beeps until it vibrates for silent mode. From that I believe it everything is still working (I hope). The screen is just blank. It happened when i tried to factory reset the phone using andyo's method. Someone please tell me there is a way i can get it back to normal. Thanks.

First, did you phone come with 2.2 or did it come with 2.2.1 I think it came with 2.2.1 and you tried to downgrade to 2.2 black screen everytime.

Easyest way use lg updater to upgrade back to 2.2.1 then if you want to root use the new one click root for 2.2.1

If he uses the updater and gets error can't update he has lost recovery. It happened to me

thanks guys screens back now i just need to get the service i guess thru android adk i think
If service is lost, you've done one of two things:
- Were doing the old rooting method for 2.2.1 and are inbetween steps
- Did something to make the phone erase it's MEID, which we hope you didn't.

Please specify what you were attempting to do when you got the black screen and check if your MEID is still in place: Home -> Menu -> Settings -> About phone -> Status -> and make sure MEID HEX doesn't say A0000000000000 (note, if it has a value, don't paste it here, just say it isn't zeroed out)

First off thanks for helping and it says unknown from my phone # to mobile network type. Also i was running the old program to try to get the phone back working. I had it rooted using the one button root and was messin wit& the files and mess the wrong one up (opps). So i was trying to get it back to normal using the lgpnst or what ever since the hard rest did nothing for me. The first time i ran the program it stoped at 42% then said phone was unpluged thats when my screen went out. I ran it 4+ times with no change to the screen. Then i downloaded antoher lgpnst and it replaced the screen on the first try but still stopped at 42% and thats where im at now.

Before you go further, most important question: Does the computer still detect your USB? If so, you're still not totally screwed.
And when you say it says Unknown, are you talking about LGNPST or your actual phone. I need to know if you see zeroes on the phone itself. If LGNPST is saying Unknown on it's display, your phone isn't being properly detected by the software. Attempting to do anything while it says Unknown will only brick your phone if it connects to it at all.

1) Download and install LG Updater from the LG website. Choose Recovery Phone from the Customer Support drop down and enter the required info. If you're told "Your phone is already up to date", move on to option 2 or 3.

2) Try the steps posted here: http://androidforums.com/optimus-m-all-things-root/342765-how-do-i-un-root.html#post2738263 to at least see if you can get your phone back in working order. Make sure drivers are installed properly. If you have Vista/Win7, you may have to play around with UAC and run in XP mode to get things working properly. (If LGNPST still says unknown after properly installing all the mentioned software, don't even attempt anything further. See option 3)

3) If you still can't get LGNPST to recognize your phone and LG Updater wouldn't do the update, send a PM to Joneidy or Blaxican25. They've been great at 1-1 helping of people in your situation.

Going through same kind of stuff... when I do "recovery phone" it gets to 100% on analysis then moves to download and gives error, "Updating is not possible any longer due to a fatal error while the LG Mobile Phone Software Update."
The LGMobile Update server has been down for some time now. What were you trying to do and what happened?
