i am having Dell xcd 35
my phone book was showing phone contacts as well as sim contacts

so when i see list it just show some contacts twice. i dont want that
so in display option of contacts i just unchecked sim contacts.
so it solve my problem

but same problem i face when i am composing SMS at that time
when searching for contacts it shows both Phone and SIM contacts.

is there any way to disable SIM Contacts??

Thanks in Advance.

There are a lot of apps for to replace the phone book.
Some may suppress the view at SIM contacts.
But I don't know which ones will do it (because I don't want a separate app for phone book :) ).

My own way:
I own a old SIM card reader for PC. So I back up the SIM at PC. When I need the SIM in a new Phone, I'll write the contacts directly back to the SIM card. So there is no need for contacts at the SIM at my Desire :)

The above is not necessarily correct.

On the DHD you go into Contacts > View and from there you can choose to show contacts from the SIM, phone, Facebook etc ... there may be something similar on your phone.

That is right for the 'People' view :)
But with the Phone Book view, you will see both phone book contacts and SIM contacts :(

ya harry i fell your way is better because for this problem using any application doesn't make good sense. So instead of that clearing SIM contact is good idea.
