Brand new Droid Charge

URDADDI I think I recognize your name from the moto forums under droidx. I am in the same boat as you--disappointed in what GB did to my X so I am going elsewhere. My new Droid Charge is expected to be in the mail today--pretty excited about it!!

Yep...that was more than likely me there, I did use the same username.

I am sorry you had issue with your DX....Moto really messed that up. So far I am loving the Droid Charge. 4G is so fast. Let us know how you like your device after you get it. I hope it turns out to be a great phone for you.

What happened to you X after GB? Laggy?

Laggy? Yes it was very laggy.

But let us add a few more issues:

1) LED notifications messed up.
2) Wifi drops and does not connect.
3) Phone shuts down on it's own periodically.
4) Battery life dropped more than 50%.
5) Phone would restart on it's own after shutting it off.
6) Icons keep disappearing.
7) Wallpaper keeps changing.

BUT...these next 2 items were the items that made my decision for me.

8) My phone would miss incoming calls.
9) At times I could not make outgoing calls. Sometimes it just lagged up so bad when trying to make a call; other times it appeared that the call was going to be made an connected but would immediately disconnect and show you a total call time of 00:00. This required a reboot of the phone, and sometimes required multiple reboots. When one needs to make an emergency phone call, they do not need to wait for a phone to reboot.

My wife has had these issues. Her bigger WiFi issue is that it keeps randomly enabling itself when she doesn't want it to. Other than that, lots of reboots (seemingly revolving around the phone application, as it seems to do it most often when on a call) and the phone randomly lags to the point that phone calls are "muted" without being actually muted (she can hear the caller, but the caller can't hear her).

She loved her X up until Gingerbread. Now she's pretty well frustrated.

That stinks that GB made your Droid X's into bricks.. hope that update doesn't do the same to the Charge when its released. To help your wife, can you take it back to the previous OS version and dump GB?

Hope you like your Charge, we are all pretty happy with ours... they aren't perfect but there are some perks that make up for our gripes.

Mine did the exact same thing, I thought it was just me.
I also have a new Charge on the way, hoping it makes it tuesday.
