Help HTC Freezes

Have a HTC Desire and freezes on start up. Doesnt make it past HTC white/green page. Have tried hard restart by pushing vol key down but doesnt work even when clearing clear storage, recovery etc. No change when sd card removed. Anyone got any tips? Very novice so pls make it it as easy as possible cheers.

Were there any events running up to this that we should know about? What country are you in? What network? Was your phone branded?

So you did vol down + power to get to hboot, then used vol to highlight recovery, then power to select. You then got the triangle logo, pressed vol up + power to get into recovery and did a factory reset there?
