I scoured the internet looking for cases for the Droid Charge. I found the case that in my opinion is *the only* case to have for the charge:

First it comes with a screen protector. I have to admit that it was hard to get this on without dust getting stuck to the self-adhesive side of the protector. And once the dust is on there, it appears to be impossible to get off. It would then create little visible air pockets under the protector. This was due to me having to re-position the protector a few times to get it lined up perfect.
** If this happens, do not peel off the final layer labeled "2" yet **.
I thought this little screen protector was now trash. I even called Otterbox and they said that they'd have to send me a new one (for no charge, not even shipping, as this is covered under the warranty -- they were also very helpful and easy to deal with). HOWEVER, I did find a way to get rid of the dust: Fill up your sink with warm and slightly soapy water. Fully submerge the protector under the water and scrub it with your fingers. Don't worry about getting the little sticker with the "2" on it wet, or anything. This will get all the dust off. Take it out, and rinse it under fresh faucet water. Now be careful to shake as much water off as possible, but keep it facing down towards the sink so that dust from the air doesn't float by and get stuck again. You'll end up with tiny droplets of water left on the adhesive side. Take a paper towel and twist it up so that you have a little pointy end. Take it and dab the remaining droplets of water to completely dry it. Now you're ready to apply it to your phone once again.
Next, it comes with a silicone or rubber piece that goes on next. It surrounds the phone leaving all the necessary cutouts for access to ports, microphones, etc. and is the layer that takes care of shock absorption. The headphone jack and USB port have little flaps so dust and crap won't get in there. This layer does cover up the volume rocker, power button, and the menu/home/back/search buttons. This is a great feature IMO, because it makes the buttons hard to hit accidentally yet doesn't interfere with normal usage.
The last piece is a hard plastic cover that goes on over the rubber. This provides hard impact protection in addition to the shock absorption. After both the rubber and the hard plastic pieces are on, what you're left with is a hybrid-plastic-rubber mix as the outer case layer. It feels great.
It looks more bulky than other cases, but let me assure you that it adds the *perfect* amount of bulk. The phone feels great sitting in my pocket, it's easy to put in my pants pocket and take it out, plus it makes the weight and balance of the phone just right.
