Do you like the Hero?

I live in Alaska and our local wireless service (Alaska Communication Systems) gets phones about 6 months or later than the lower 48. We have just this week been offered the Hero (Sprint version)...first Android phone sold locally. My spouse and 3 teens have iPhones, but we've already been to a couple of spots in AK where they didn't have service.
Do you like your Heros??? If you had the chance at a different phone would you choose something other than the Hero? Why?

Thanks for your input,
sherri

love the thing. I don't put it down. it doesn't get quite as good of service as my old p.o.s. razr did, but that doesn't surprise me. those things got service everywhere lol. I literally don't put the thing down though. I'm on my laptop now, but playing poker on my hero as well. When I'm in class, the Hero's a lifesaver at keeping me from being bored. I could use my laptop, but the hero's a little less obvious when no one else is using laptops this semester.

Oddly enough, last semester i didn't get much service at school, at least not in the buildings. Now this semester I get amazing service, 4 or 5 bars everywhere.

I just got my Hero this weekend and love it! I had a BlackBerry Curve 8330 and was worried about losing the physical keyboard, but have adjusted and can text just as fast on as I used to. It has so many apps and the customization on the phone is superior to my BlackBerry. My wife has a Palm Pre and is jealous of my Hero and my friends who have an iPhone are very impressed with the phone as well.

I like my Hero over WinMo anyday. My brother switched to th Hero from an iPhone but doesnt like it since its not as "snappy" as the iPhone, but he likes the better coverage and cheaper bill though.

The price would be about the same. Coverage would be better with the service offering the Hero. I really wanted the Hero, but after reading several post here, it seems the apps can be really buggy....I am certainly not up to dealing with phone issues. So still undecided.

Every day I find a new reason to love this phone more!

Well I question your reason to ask that question here in this forum .
I predict 99% will say positive opinions!

I recommend you read reviews and YouTube videos so that you might have a more unbias feedback

That said ....... get the hero ! You will be satisfied

Some apps can be buggy, yes. But that's why you read the reviews of the apps before you download them. If there's a whole bunch of bad reviews, then don't download it (obviously).

As great as the Sprint Hero is (I love mine), it really doesn't amount to a hill of beans if you do not have good sprint service where you are at.

As stated before, this phone wasn't offered by Sprint in Alaska. It is offered by Alaska Communications Systems who is partnered with Verizon. I will have excellent coverage.....
I got my Hero last night. :)
