Help missing notification bar and other problems

Happened today. Went to look at my phone and the notifications to see if I had a email and it was missing. I went through all the settings and I couldnt find where to turn it back on. Also when text messaging normally I can see what I type but now the keyboard covers the entire box area so it blocks what I type. It also starts as all caps everytime I have no clue whats going on. It does have the new update 2.3

Anyone know how to fix this? Or do I need a reset? Im new to the phone so pardon the questions.

I am having the exact same problems. I don't know what to do.
I miss that bar without it I cannot see signal strength, battery, etc.

Try a Restart (hold the power button down to get the Power Options menu, and pick Reset, not Power off). If that doesn't fix it, try powering down and pulling the battery (wait at least 5 minutes before putting battery back in).

I believe it's restart, not reset.

I was erasing some apps, and downloading games and my notification bar was gone, my keyboard covers up my text box when texting and it twitches while I'm texing, so it makes my words look like wowords. Also, if I try to backspace while texting it takes me to the "erase selected messages" screen. I just got this phone replaced maybe a month ago because of charging issues, I don't want to have to replace again!
