New HTC FCC filing but probably not the Bravo

It is interesting that this device passed before verizon's, which IS listed on the google phone page. AT&T is not listed there.
I think that's what jrennel means.

Oh ok, I see. I guess I was just focusing on what Verizon said, I think they said Spring which isn't technically until 3/21, so I am not too worried about what other Carriers are doing.

Now if it gets closer to March and I don't hear anything, then I would be worried.

Some phones get FCC approved and released right away. Some get approved long before release. Some even get approved and never are released. I take solice in the fact that the Nexus One has been announced for Verizon with a launch timeframe despite the lack of FCC approval (still plenty of time for this). I'd much rather that than have the phone mysteriously approved with coincident frequency support despite absolutely no word from a carrier that's not quite as secretive as Verizon.

So i'm a total newbie here (to posting) but for some reason my "gut" (read: not worth the few bits this text takes up) tells me that for some reason the "Bravo" just doesn't sound like a code name for Verizon. Passion, Eris, Desire (I understand those are apples and oranges) all seem like they kinda fit together and Bravo just doesn't fit for me. I think it's likely we'll see the Bravo on some other network, but on Verizon as the Incredible.

As stated above, none of this has any basis in fact or reality...just a gut instinct...

I think your gut is spot on. The hope is that with the Bravo or Incredible, it's the same basic hardware in different packaging (and a different radio). I'm sure the Bravo will remain the GSM version and as with all things CDMA these days, it'll be a tinkered-with version from Verizon. I just hope they keep the tinkering to cosmetic changes, unless of course they're requesting beefier specs from HTC. Plus features aren't unwelcome, crippling is.

Beefier specs like 4.3 in 1ghz hopefully that's all I want. From having this Droid now I definitely want the supersonic if I'm going without a keyboard. 3.7 is nice but I'm a 6ft 2in MAN with big hands....I don't have the Burger King hands...LMAO. I want a size screen I can easily type in portrait....and it ain't 3.7. But I'll probably end up getting the first 1ghz beast they get 3.7 or 4.3.

Not really. You can use the Nexus One on AT&T right now. You cannot though use the Nexus One on Verizon right now. The only limit using the N1 on AT&T is that you wont be able to get 3G speeds and have to settle for EDGE. So why wouldn't a N1 that can be used on a carrier the N1 is already been used on clear the FCC before a N1 that can be used on a carrier is cannot currently be used on?
In the end what happens in some AT&T users who already bought the N1 will get dicked by a hassling return/refund policy at the very least.

So the last thing i'm being at this point is picky, meaning i'll take whatever code name they want to call it as long as it has an AMOLED screen, 3.7+ inch screen, some type of advanced processor (Snapdragon, Tegra/Tegra 2 (!!), OMAP 36xx), 512MB -1 GB RAM, and no physical keyboard (have Droid now, don't need physical keyboard*). I do have to admit, not having held a 4.3 inch phone, i'm not sure if I really want/need THAT BIG of a screen...i think a 4 inch is my sweet spot for plenty of real estate but still pocketable (is that a word??).

* Droid physical keyboard is not good in my opinion but if i had an advanced onscreen keyboard like HTC Sense type i wouldn't mind, but lack of multitouch on the keyboard is a REAL deal breaker for me.

So here's a left field thought/question...
Any chance that the Incredible COULD have a Tegra/Tegra 2 processor? There's all that talk about Divx (or was it Xvid?), Dolby, etc... so i wonder if this could be the way HTC gets into the nVidia/Tegra game...thoughts?

I think what makes it interesting is the lack of listing on the Google phone website. Having that listing, to me, means that some cooperative agreement was reached between Google and a carrier to provide subsidized service with a contract, perhaps in addition to an unlocked model. Why build and approve an AT&T 3G capable phone just to sell it unlocked only? In the US, I'd bet you get far more subsidized purchases so without the agreement, it doesn't make business sense to crank out a carrier specific model unlocked only. Therefore, this FCC approval is a little bit of a chicken before the egg situation. Then again, we've all assumed to this point that it's actually the Nexus One. It could, for all practical purposes, be the US derivative Bravo or some HTC Android offering specifically for AT&T. The Nexus One models could go 99100 (T-Mobile Nexus One), 99101, 99102, etc. This is the 99110.

My problem with it being sold for AT&T officially so fast is the lack of AT&T on the order page. Isn't the N1 from a hardware perspective ready to be used on Vodafone right now? I'm thinking its really just going to be an additional step after choosing unlocked on the order page. The N1 right now unlocked really only works on 1 carrier. So making another model isn't so far out of whack (this model will be the reverse of the current N1. 3G on AT&T and Edge on Tmobile).

Interesting to note. I cannot pull up the files anymore. I can search for NM8PB99110 and get an exhibits list. But I can pull any of them up. All I get is "0 Matches found for FCC ID 'NM8PB99110'
There are no attachments for public review associated with this application."

Ok lets try this again. Yes that image is of the exhibit list (which I said I could pull up). But when I click on "detail" on any of them I get the error message that I previously said. Summary works (and shows alot of the documents were submitted on 1-6). But detail does not pull up the paperwork (9:58pm EST).

Detail is pulling up for me.

Guess it will be the Verizon N1 for me in the Spring. Sure wish we got a Bravo like HTC phone.
I want the Nexus 1 to, but then I thought about it, first the phone is not offered by Verizon so we wont get the 30 return, if we don't like it so if two weeks latter they come out with the Bravo, well, were f'cked and also if something go wrong with the phone software/hardware who the hell fixes it. I guarantee the reps aren't going to give two sh!Tz about this phone cause they aren't getting paid for it. I just don't understand why Verizon wouldn't put out another phone with Sense UI running on Snapdragon, let they people decide.

Did you notice that on the test report page number 6 it is talking about 2 different phones. I do not know how verizon shows up on the cdma there. But looks like it is for 2 different carriers. Maybe UK and America. This could be the phone newsradio has been talking about.

My guess is a device like the HD2 with android for Tmobile. The device is picking up WCDMA IV band.

PB1100 is the HD2 with windows
PB1120 is in that model frame. This is only a guess.
Good catch again. This might be the HTC Supersonic

Well we can again rule out the hope for Verizon with this particular one. Verizon FCC filings refer to the bands as CDMA2000 and EVDO not GSM and WCDMA. I didn't notice the two phone reference before but the two phones mention cover the exact same spectrum, the only difference is the measured wattage. I think a phone for two different countries would have different frequencies not just different wattage so the test report might be talking about the measurements for two test units (same exact model).
