I will likely upgrade my Eris with a Droid Bionic or HTC Vigor in the next month or two. (I may hold out for Vigor which is rumored to be released in Oct.). My Eris is currently running CS v16. I don't want to pitch it. I was thinking of turning it into a Skype phone and media player for my DS. Has anyone done this? If so, does it work well?

i dont really use mine to make skype calls, but no reason you cant if youre in wifi with it. i play with mine constantly,still... you could put music on it and use it for an mp3 player, use it for apps, etc. practice up on your ADB :D lots of uses still for an inactive lil buddy. alot of times ill use mine to listen to pandora while im fallin asleed,lol... lots of uses.

im pretty intrigued by the vigor. im not sure ill utilize a dual core processor so wether or not i gotta find a way to get one remains to be seen. i can clock my TB safely to 1.4 ghz if i want, and despite some of the bad press its gotten im still extremely happy with it. i think the the only real advantage the vigor may offer me is more RAM and internal memory.

i just wouldnt count the october chickens until theyve actually hatched, lol.

Ya, release dates never turn out to be the rumored dates. Don't know if I want to wait for Vigor or not. Bionic looks promising - but will Motorola unlock the bootloaders? Unlikely.
ADB, eh? Gah! I STILL have not played with ADB. I'd better start reading..

I'm waiting to see more in the vigor as well. My upgrade isn't due until Nov so maybe by then it'll be ready :)

I gave my old eris to a broke buddy of mine, who flashed it to metro. but as soon as I gave it to him i missed it. Even though i got a new incredible 2 i still regretted giving that phone away.. so i ended up buying one from another friend who upgraded to the tb for $30.. and the fun part is its a stock unrooted eris thats been kept in good condition.(ive actually never met another person face to face with a rooted phone) mine was dropped alot and the speaker was no good on it.(speakerphone speaker)... but anyways.. theres still sooo much to do with this little eris that could.. im going to get a kitchen and try to learn how too cook up some roms with my eris.. im addicted to android!!
