Got with schwab deal

Was going to wait to at least see the SG2, but decided to pull the trigger this morning and order my photon. I got it for free by putting some new money in Charles Schwab...and I did not sign a new contract!

Two things really pushed me over the edge....been waiting for a few weeks to see which bugs would hit the photon.
1. Google buying motorola means motorola will be major android player. Also hopefully will get resources to fix silent call issue.
2. I am coming from a samsung moment...samsung never supported that phone adequately, and reading online that they still have gps problems even on the new stuff. Felt that I could not reward them with another purchase after the horrid moment experience.

Almost went to the HTC 3d...but too many issues with reception and I live in an area of bad reception. Hopefully pentile won't be too annoying.

So now I am a fellow MoPho!

How did the schwab deal work? Where can i learn about it?

Well you don't give them 75K to keep, its still your money. You just have to keep it there for I think 6 months or so, can't remember exact timing...if you have stocks etc. in another account you can either move some of them to an account there or start a new account there with them. If you have your stocks sitting in other brokerage accounts do they give you anything? I think the interest rate on money market it like .01%, so at least it is something. Plus Schwab is a pretty good company to work with IMHO.

You don't make money by spending it all the time He just got a $600 device by doing something he would have with his money anywho.... growing it. In my book he just made $600, on top of whatever might grow from his schwab account.

Offtopic..... I've heard from Vegas locals that you can always tell who "new" money is, and who "old" money is, because the "old" money folks aren't as liberal with their wallets as "new" money folks.

...which is likely a large part of why you (or I) do not have 75-large lying around.
