Headphone sound

Ok I have done many searches and have not seem to have found a common answer if one exists. In addition to a TERRIBLE battery life this phone also has a very low volume level especially from the headphone out jack. It is supposed to have some sort of surround sound feature but when i turn it on it doesnt get any better. Does anyone know a way to boost the volume it has got to be possible.

Try using mixzing from market to push your eq higher. Be careful not to go too high or you will get bad distortion.
I use poweramp but its a paid app after 30days

i gotta say - i have the same phone, and i've never had a problem with the headphone jack, or the speaker... in fact, i've come kind of close to blowing out the speaker a few times......

you might want to check with whatever store/carrier you got the phone from. it might be defective.

also, extend the battery life by turning off your bluetooth, satellite, wi-fi, and all of that stuff...... i've gotten my battery to last for 2 days. you might want to consider turning off your 3-G too, but doing so will mess with your picture messaging.... it will save battery, but you will not be able to send or receive pic messages while it is off. your text messaging will still work tho. if you're low-low-low on battery, turn off your 3-G to save some until you can charge it.... but, if you're good, keep it on.

I dont know if you were talking to me but im on metro. I dont think it is my phone I am just usually trying to listen to it in places where there is alot of background noise like on the bus and riding my bike so it doesnt work very well. I am just used to my creative zen mp3 player that has no problem overpowering that background noise

I wasasking the Guy before me. He mentioned 3g, which metro doesn't officially support, meaning that turning 3g off doesn't effect text/mms sincetheu go over 1x signals.

Try using earbud style headphones, (I use skull candy sets $10 at fye or similar stores)

Or Bluetooth.

you have a creative zen mp3 player? i have one too..... weird. we have the same phone and mp3 player. we're practically related - electronically anyway.

are you talking about the built-in speaker on the phone, or using headphones? i use both on my phone, and both have been great. it could be your earphones..... also, some songs that i download seem to play softer than others, so it could be where you download your music from.

seriously - double check if your phone is defective, b/c i've never had a problem with volume.... i use my music player on my phone more than my mp3 player these days.....

Cool. Hit the ascend area and let them know.

I said OFFICIALLY as in the local stores deny 3g support.

However, metro has 4glte (4g long term evolution) which is really 3gpp aka 3.9g so 3g devices can pickup a good deal of the lte network. Until reciently the prl of metro non-4g prevented them from accessing it.
Then a prl update went out (reasons unknown.) Allowing access.

Because not all areas are covered by the lte network not all 3g devices got the update (like Miami) so they are stuck on 1x.

Prl updates can be forced but I can't help you with that.
