Root Is there a way to get HTC's video player to work on an AOSP rom?

I am currently running DT's BlackAosp. The ONLY thing I really miss about sense is it's streaming video player. It could handle all of the movies I have on my sd card far better than any video player out there, and believe me, I've tried them all. Nothing can adjust the movie to fit the TB screen like that darn sense player. It's called Streaming Media Player and it is a system app for sense. But it's still just an app, so I figure there must be some way I could get it to work another rom. I tried just copying the app with titanium and restored it to my rom, but it doesn't come up as an option to play a movie, so there is obviously more to it than that. I know lots of you guys know about getting apps to work on other roms(something to do with permissions or .lib files maybe?), so if anyone knows or has any ideas on how to get that to work I would be in your debt.

It may use resources only available in sense roms or sense kernels, as you said. I usually just scale the video to fit the screen when I am converting it (even though most things play raw, I like to scale and covert audio stereo to save space), so I don't run into the scaling issues. Mobiplayer has played everything I have thrown at it, but as you said, it does not do scaling.
