Just a friendly post letting everyone know that the Amazon Free App of the Day is Printer Share. Normally $12.99 you'll definitely want to grab this even if you don't think you'd use it. I just printed a test page from my gmail account at work and it worked perfectly. If printing over WiFi you'll need to download the necessary drivers to your SD card (need 4mb free). I wasn't able to print in color because the app couldn't find the driver for the printer at work so it used a generic one. My email printed quickly and the quality was as if I printed from my PC, albeit without color ;). Thanks to Amazon and Printer Share for offering such a great app for free today

Cheers!

The website is getting a beat down from people downloading the desktop software. Never thought I needed a wifi printer until now (I always though it was odd to have wifi on a device that doesn't move so I never paid the difference in price...never thought about this application).

I have a Laptop and it's not always convenient to move the laptop over to the computer room, connect it to the USB and print a document (especially with the overly sensitive HD vibration detection software on this computer, which is funny that it has one since the primary drive is a SSD). So I went to one of my favorite sites (SlickDeals.com) and saw that they had a refurbished Cannon Wireless printer/scanner/copier on sale for $35.00. It was such a great deal that I bought 2 of em and gave one to my father.

I downloaded this app earlier this morning although I haven't looked to see what it's capable of but I'm sure I'll wind up using it at one point or another. Does anyone know if you have to have it connected to a Wifi hotspot in order to print or can you just connect your built in wifi hotspot to the printer and print?

I just share my desktop's printer instead of moving it...and 90% of the time my desktop is booted into Edubuntu now, but I have it working as a windows shared device.

My house is probably a bit more "wired" than most--I built the house while I was running a low-voltage wiring company. I have about 25 lan drops, so I am never very far from an RJ45 jack. I rarely even use wifi with the laptop, which has sort of become our kitchen computer--it sits at the end of the kitchen table most of the time.

I thought the app worked ad hoc directly to the printer.

Do you need desktop software?

I downloaded this early this morning but won't have a chance to play around with it until later tonight.
