Root big battery issue

I am trying to find a way to save my battery and run my phone at a good speed.. just using like Facebook on 3G kills my battery massively... i cant get 5 hours out of my phone, and my battery is fine. My phone is running at 102 degrees farenheight, and I'm using das bamf sense 3.0.. I have always had baddddddddd battery life, my phone will go from like 90% to 80% in like 5 minutes .. while i was typing this I went from 18% to 11%.... Please help I even tried juice defender on agressive, doesnt help.

Have you tried getting off sense?

Have you tried getting off sense?
I wouldn't think that's the problem.. I am running Synergy and Im getting excellent battery life...

I would so go with what Yeahha stated above. If that doesn't fix it, then I would say switch to a different rom...

But it still could be Sense. Some people have better luck with AOSP and some have better luck with Sense. You just have to try for yourself and see what works for your certain phone..

The sense footprint is much larger than AOSP. After you flash it sense will have more running and consume more battery. Some sense roms are nicer to the battery than others, I know Ziggy is a great dev so I expect his roms to get good battery life, I'm glad they do. But in general a well built AOSP rom will get better batery life than a sense rom.

OP: I know you had issues with AOSP previously but now you have that extra data downloaded you shouldn't have that issue and could go back to AOSP no problem

have you tried set CPU profiles?
What exactly is using up the battery so fast?Menu>about phone>battery>battery use. display is usually #1, then there really shouldn't be anything over like 10% after that. if there is, you have an issue with something
Which radio are you on? newer radios have been a lot easier on the battery than the MR2 radios. 802 is amazing IMO.

currently i am sitting at 59% after 4.5 hours of what i would consider Heavy use.
1 hour of tune in radio, 5 e-mails, streaming pandora right now, and about 10 text messages and 1, 5 minute phone call. screen on time is just under an hour as well.

running bamf Forever 1.0.3 on the latest 802 radio. this is on 4G the entire time.

I'll try the battery stat thing. My display is at 78% the next highest is cell standby at 5%... I turned everything down in display. Brightness is low, animations are off, screen time out is 15 sec. And I took my phone off charger at 7:15, it had full charge, now 10:12 and the battery is at 56%. I have sent about 15 texts and been on Facebook a few times thats it. And I'm on bamf forever 1.0.4... And i dont want to go back to black source rom, it had way to many problems and drained my battery also. I am also on the newest radio 3.5 I think.

IIRC one of the radios caused massive battery drain issues for the first few days after the flash. I could see that happening upon upgrading the radio if you did that recently.

The task killer could be part of the issue as well. Android is built to handle process management on it's own. You running a task killer is redundant and can cause programs to go into loops where they are launched, killed, launched, killed, launched... when they should launch then become a background process and not consume battery. I think you should uninstall ATK and JD to see if that helps.

No your radio can only be changed with hboot so flash and wipe away.

I can't give a very clear explanation of what battery stats are, we had a large thread a while back where me and another poster discussed them in detail and the only thing that came out of it was that battery stats could be the system keeping track of the discharge voltage graph, but that doesn't explain why changing roms would cause the to get FUBAR so there must be something else in there.

Found the thread http://androidforums.com/thunderbolt-all-things-root/400789-battery-stats-good-bad-clear.html

The back and forth between me and brizey from around the OP and post 30. Don't know if that helps you much.

The battery was at 90% when you started, it just didn't show it yet. The reboot fixed that for you. Have you ever tried running the battery down to where it actually shut off? How long will that take? Batt stats are deceiving at best, and the reporting even worse.

Here's a quick example. My batt will never get to 100% at this point. (brand new batt) The max is 90% once or twice / week. Other than that it will stay at 85% give or take. This morning it read 67% after an all night charge so I rebooted the phone. Came up as 89%. I mean WTF? So either I get a new phone (refurb) on warranty or simply don't look at batt stats. Someone suggested I run the phone down until it shuts off, then recharge it to 100%. Well you know how that went. But the point being it took hours and hours of HD video, music, phone calls, texts, surfing etc. to burn it out. The last 2% lasted well over an hour. Bottom line, don't sweat it.

lol it may have worked like that for you, but thats not my case. my phone said 99% after the phone actually rebooted... then as i used it , it lost power. Yes when mine gets to 1% its really what it says, and runs down just as fast, i have drained it and recharged to 100%, yes, same issue.

can you take a screen shot of you battery stats?
go to the "battery use" screeen and tap the graph at the top and take/post a screen shot of that. I just want to see a couple things.

also, now that you have set CPU, try out some profiles.
i have mine set to 1ghz with screen on and battery over 30%
at 30%, set to .75ghz
screen off set to .75ghz

you may want to look through the different options..i am not a battery worry wart, so i am minimal with my profiles. this setup gets me easily through a weekend day. 14 hours with 30% remaining.

yeah i had issues with imos kernal as well. i think until the official OTA comes we are "stuck" with the stock kernal unless you run that ROM that has Ziggys kernal (why he wont release his kernal is beyond me)
IMO Bamf forever is still the smootest/ most trouble free Sense 3.0 ROM available even at stock speeds.

as for the screen shot, i use an app called "screenshot"
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.geeksoft.screenshot&feature=search_result
it takes the screenshot and saves it to the gallery...from there you can upload to your fav photo sharing site and post here, or if you have the phandroid app, i believe (dont quote me on that) you can attach it directly from the app.
