Infuse vs Galaxy S II

Well AT&T has the Galaxy S II now and for me, the upgrade price is $199 compared to $99 for the Infuse. Considering my budget, a 100 bucks is a lot of money but at the same time, I have a personality glitch that makes me always want the latest and greatest and it gets me in trouble. I've been to YouTube and I've watched all the reviews and comparisons but I still can't decide, HELP ME!

I don't really use my cell for web stuff much and I'm on AT&T's minimum data plan, but with one of these models I'm sure that will change.

Anyway, if someone can help me out, I would appreciate it. If there's a difference in call quality between the two (reception, sound, speaker-phone function) then this might be a decision maker, but they're probably about the same in that department.

Gs2 is prolly better...I think the infuse might leave u short. If phone calls is what u do. The large screen lends to gaming and web browsing and video watching... call is good but, its a big phone lol. Thin but big. With a case, bigger. I would imagine phone calls would be ackward, idk I rarely talk on it. But quality is good..
I would choose the infuse, simlpy cuz it has a bigger screen. I am sad the screen is not bigger. 5" would be perfect.

Well, you're not the only person who has commented on using the Infuse to talk on because of its' size; what am I missing here, what do you guys use as a phone, do you carry around a separate cell phone to talk on? Sounds kind of expensive to me!

If thats the case and u only use ur phone for talk and text then why get a smartphone at all?? What do u use now that requires a data plan but u hardly use??

Good question, but I have a good answer: I love playing with high tech toys and a phone that just does what I need it to do is rather boring, not much to play with! I disagree with AT&T and other carriers who require you to have a data plan to buy one of their Smartphones, if I had the money, I would just pay full price and buy an unlocked model from eBay and slap my SIM card in it and AT&T would be none the wiser, but I can't afford $600 for a Galaxy S II to play with.

If your on a budget go with the LG Thrill. Dual processor, dual channel memory, 5mp camera, front facing camera, and 3D. Benchmarks were right above the Droid bionic but lower then the GS2. Only drawback with this phone is it came with 2.2 which is supposed to be upgraded that month(we'll see). Infuse does have a better screen then the Thrill though but lacks in all other catagories.

Honestly yes, I do carry two phones. I have onenof those motorola w150i phones its like an inch across and 2.5 inches tall it fits right in my jeans watch pocket. Eventually this infuse will be replaced with a plays station vita. The battery life on my motorola w150i is days!! Cuz all it does is make calls the screens not even color. LG does make great mid range phones and it sounds like that's what you need. LG.

well, it's really what makes you think you're getting the best bang for your buck. the infuse will be good enough to go a couple years. even if you did get the sg2, something better will be out soon anyway. i got the infuse cuz i don't need what the sg2 offers, and i only paid $39 for my infuse. it's nice to get the latest and greates, but if you're on a budget, the infuse isn't a bad choice..

Lol so what do you use the infuse for like a multimedia device? Why even have service on it?

So I'm glad that I have the Infuse, as the battery life is pretty good (as the Galaxy S2 seems to have very low battery life). So by the time I upgrade in a few more months, hopefully they will have invested more in the battery life span on the Galaxy phones.

From what I have seen GS2 is extremely battery efficient with it's dual core processor, quite a bit more then an Infuse. I would say an Infuse has a pretty good battery too though.

Just a heads up. I have this phone and the specs that you quoted are way off. Battery is 1800MaH
Up to 8.7 hours of talk time.

Just go to sprint's website and check it out. I usually get about 20 -30 hours out of a battery depending on what I am doing. For sure it should more than last 8 hours depending on your use.

Ha it is funny that you guys argue about this, it means almost nothing. My Dlev rom runs way smoother and stable then Miui, even though it gets half the benchmark. Not saying that anyone is wrong, just saying this is not a really good way to test a phone's power (even though im certain the GS2 is the best).

I'm watching an app called juice plotter to monitor my battery life. I can usually get by 13-16 hours of battery life depending on what I do with the phone.

Does blacking the screen (ie sleep mode) provide more life for example like on an iphone...you can black the screen and the battery goes down very little.... is this possible with the infuse 4g?

It does preserve the battery life. The screen will shut off while on a call after 30 seconds or whatever time you have set. I can get over 24 hours on the battery now with my Infuse.

I disable mobile data and wifi and only enable it when I want to check my email or do some lite surfing. My phone as of right now has been on for 1 day and 43 minutes with 47% of the usage being calls

I have periodically check my email throughout the day, sent various text messages, surfed the web and checked facebook. I currently have 36% left on my battery as of right now
