I just got my hero over the weekend and maybe I just didnt notice it until now... the bottom button/tackball plate seems to have a little loosness or play in it... if I push it left/right or up/down it moves a slight amount. It doesnt feel like it would pop off but its something I just noticed today.

Anyone elses like this? Or do I have to take it in to sprint for a replacement?

thanks for the reply, I wasnt talking about the trackball itself... I was talking about the small silver plate (the one that also acts as buttons for the menu/home/search/back)

the plate itself has a little play in it.. do yours have any movement?

if you're talking the buttons then you should not have any play on it @ all, you might want to go to a Sprint tech store and compare yours with their display and see how much yours is different. If it is then i would have them repair it. Make sure if your rooted to RUU before you walk in

ok so I am not crazy... I didnt think it did it before... My phone is "stock" so no problems with rooting. Kinda sux though cause I got it just the way I like it, invisible shield on it, and have bought a couple apps... guess I will see if there is a way to back up as much as I can and take it in tomorrow.

Thanks for the help folks!

as far as your invisible sheild i really cant help you, maybe take it off and put it on the new phone or take it to where you got it put on and have them do it

if you want to back up info then

1.download a backup program and back up your data/apps(i use mybackup free)
2. after backing up data copy the information over to your computer
3. your paid apps will follow your gmail account so dont worry about those
4. when you get your new phone drag/drop your folders back to your sd card
5. run the SAME backup program from b4 and restore all your data/apps(i still like mybackup becuz it saved me a few times and is very easy to use...get the free 1)

If this helps give m rep!

Hmm... I just happened to stumble upon this...

Not trying to initiate grave digging, but my front faceplate where the home, search, yada-yada and trackball are has always moved up, down, and all around a little bit. That and I've always had to mash the back button to make it work... I assumed it was kinda normal because the display in our stores is like this... should I say something about it, or ignore it? I don't really find it to be an issue though...
