ok my phone is back from being froze lol. Now every time ive tried to do what was instructed i either had no subfolder to copy in on sdcard or it would freeze.
my phone is rooted i have busybox rom manager terminal program androzip super user all installed and working fine.
can someone please explain how to install gingerbread update or the best rom to run on optimus so that i can actually do it. Im sorry im not the smartest guy but im not the dumbest either and most the posts have told me to extract and move to a folder on my sdcard that is not there. Do I need to create it or what? Please any help thanks.

1) Backup your apps with something like TitaniumBackup or MyBackup

2) Download the BACKside ROM zip file, the gapps zip file, and optional GreenMachineTheme zip file linked below and place them on your sdcard

3) Boot into recovery

4) Make a backup

5) Wipe cache, and under advanced wipe dalvik cache

6) Under mounts, format boot, system, data, and cache

7) Flash the BACKside ROM zip file

8) Flash the gapps zip file

9) [Optional] Flash the GreenMachine-UOT zip file for the Green Machine Theme

10) Reboot your phone

11) Restore apps, but DO NOT RESTORE SYSTEM APPS!!!

12) Enjoy yummy gingerbread and the CyanogenMod goodies

and do i ned to dl backup or titanium if i have the clockwork
Yes you need titanium. The recovery backup is a full sweep of the android. Titanium does each app + data, don't backup system apps.

Read the first post in the BACKside thread. All of your questions are answered there. Once you're done reading the 1st post, read it again. Then probably a 4th time.
