Is there ANY reason for vzw not to exchange the phone when the gnex comes out?? i just dont want to be stuck without gnex if i test drive one of these devices...

Apparently no. Just called VZW and I was quite honest with the rep about the GN delays and I'm frustrated with how slow my phone is and I'll probably just get a temp Razr or Rezound...I also explained I bought a Bionic and then returned it....so my question was whether or not there's a max on returns/exchanges or some sort of restriction. Including this new holiday return policy, the vzw rep said there is no restriction. As long as it is within the return policy and damage free, should not be an issue with an exchange. But I'd make sure you triple check with the rep you buy it from, I've been screwed over before from what reps say at the literal stores. If you purchase through Customer Service, they're pretty swell and much easier to deal with

According to the official return policy, that is not correct. You get one exchange.

Return Policy - Verizon Wireless

Exchange New Merchandise

You are permitted to make one exchange. To make an exchange, return the merchandise (including device, charger, battery, instructions, and any other components) in the ORIGINAL box. All merchandise must be in like-new condition and accompanied by the original receipt. Shipping charges may apply to exchange merchandise sent to you by Verizon Wireless.

If you damage it. That's what makes me second-guess a "rental" of a Rezound, I'd be afraid I'd drop it and get a good ding in it, or even worse break the glass.

I'm probably going to wait for my upgrade date on the 28th. If the SGN hasn't come out by then, I'll take the Rezound or RAZR for a spin.

Just buy a good case with it. You can return that as well with no restock fee.

Verizon's warranty change is do to these facts;

Most people that by a cell phone are clueless about them.
So with the release of the Nexus, it will give them people a chance to return it for something that they can understand better.

And there maybe people that do not like the idea of having soft buttons,
the Nexus will be a trial and error phone for the most part.

And if there is a bug or two, and you do not want to wait for the OS fix,
then you can give it back.

The new warranty is for the Nexus.

So with the ^^ above crazy talk I say we hear about the Nexus this week.:)

Logically, VZW is a huge business. They have got to know that at least a thousand+ people are going to buy a razr and return it and get the SGN...especially since we know that someone from corporate is monitoring these forums. I'm being optimistic that they will logically announce this phone tomorrow.. Plus, don't forget, their twitter accounts are constantly sending out reminder tweets about signing up for SGN news and release info. Like others have said, I think they are contractually obligated to HTC/Motorola/Samsung as far as sales and getting rid of units are concerned. Maybe the reason for the push off? and yes of course less $$ from lack of bloatware on the SGN? (or minimum amount as we heard recently...) Just my thoughts..

I took that the other way, I think he says get it for the 13 days, and the Nexus WILL release during that 13 day period (he must not know that Verizon extended the exchange). If it doesn't, then blame him for telling you to do it...Haha

Yea he didn't know about the return period extension...

O even better!!! RT @CSharpAJ @black_man_x VZW extended the return policy for phones bought tomorrow or later to Jan 9th.

Unfortunately, he just tweeted:

So he has no idea either. He’s just saying, “Get the HTC device, have fun while you wait. Because who knows what’s going on.”

Edit: Ow, Ninja'd.

Hi guys...I am new to post to the forum but an avid reader. I was one of the people who bit the Bionic bullet but returned it right away after multiple problems. I am going nuts reading about all these release dates and my Droid 2 seems to be dying a slow death. Come on GN!!!

Anyways, did anyone notice @VZWsupport on twitter today? I was home with my daughter who was sick all day, Steven I feel your pain, and I noticed they sent the GN sign up message over and over. I would post it on here but I can't because I am new.

Now is this a sign or am I just reading into it? Insight please...
