Help Kindle Fire Stuck at Reboot Screen

I absolutely detest the carousel style launcher on the fire, so I tried installing a different launcher (GO LauncherEX) and my fire froze up and showed nothing but a black screen after i had changed GO Launcher to the preferred launcher. I held the power button, shut down my kindle, but after turning it back on, I never get past the sparkling 'kindle fire' text. My computer doesnt recognize it as any device so i cant re-install the OS. I have no idea what to do. Suggestions?

Ouch that sucks! Let the battery die and see what happens,then recharge. Did you try rooting it or just sideload the app? I loathe the carousel display too, but thankfully when I installed the Go Launcher app it went well.

Can also try holding the power button down for 20 seconds.
