The great unrooted, that is...:)

The rooteds have their own entire forum, so I thought we could have one thread: a safe, warm place where we can come out as unrooted, talk about our reasons, or not (whatever your reasons are, they are of no importance to anyone but yourself, really). Just hang out and say hi. I've no idea how this will go, but let's see. :)

And...
We have cake!

Still unrooted here.

Internal space is my only reason for considering it but so far dealing with that hasn't been reason enough to go through the hassle of rooting.

My phone works great, I'm an "if it ain't broke..." type of girl for the most part.

I do notice lately apps on my SDcard are a bit slow to load up on phone start. I wonder if i need to reformat it, I've had this card for 2 phones so far, close to 2 years of adding/removing stuff. Would I just power off the phone, copy the contents onto my computer, reformat and then copy everything back, do you think? Would that even help, since i"d be putting all the same stuff back but maybe in a defragmented fashion?

Thorsten, I was just messing with you; I knew that'd get you in here. ;)

I totally agree, liz. I don't even have the storage space issue because I just don't have a lot of apps. My main reason for not rooting at this point, in addition to if it ain't broke? Pure laziness. :D

I notice this sometimes with a few of my widgets, but it's nowhere near enough of a bother, and I still have tons of space on my card (the one that came with the phone, too!). I wish I had an answer for you (and I'm sure someone else will), but maybe it's time to treat yourself to a new card. You've gotten a lot of use out of that one!

Good to know I'm not the only one left! :D

Maybe in a couple of years, I'm in no hurry to root.

@lizm From what I've read, the more apps υ have on your sdcard the longer it'll take to load up. So I don't think υ need to reformat your sdcard. ฝhen I reboot my phonε, I just leave it 'till the power screen goes off. By that time all my apps are reloaded.

Btw thanks for the pies, Macfett! Just what I need on a cold day like today. :D

Thanks! I think I've probably changed it a bunch of times in the last few months. I make them with the Spirograph app, lol. If you like to use your screenshots as your avatar, you have plenty of great ones to chose from!

BTW, Andy (since I know you're reading this), I forgot to say you're more than welcome to fetch us tea and coffee. :p

That looks delicious, syav. Thanks for bringing beverages, since Andy is lying down on the job...

I totally pulled "10 browsers" out of the air, lol- I know you've mentioned having a lot before when we were discussing storage space management...
Which brings me back to a point I wanted to make when I mentioned using the Spirograph app to make my avatars: any app which can't be moved to SD (such as Spirograph), must be absolutely vital to your everyday existence if you're going to stay unrooted successfully. :D

To recap so far, we have: Four brave unrooted souls: (one of whom probably won't be back because we're just to silly for him :p), Liz and me with the just don't care all that much attitude that's served us and our phones quite well, and syav of the 10 browsers, who no doubt has mad cache management skills. Two rooted intruders, only one of whom brought a peace offering, and one wanna-be whom I don't consider an intruder 'cause she's my good bud. :D

Plus lots of cake, pie (still not as good as cake), and yummy coffee beverages.

I know there are more of us...

Sorry I didn't bring the beverages I was sulking and staying out of were I thought I wasn't wanted. Maybe I'll bring something tomorrow.
