Can we all agree that this will be the first and last Nexus phone to be released on Verizon?

That alone is reason to wait. I keep telling myself this when I am tempted to get the Rezound.

Maybe, but I also think this shows how behind Google is compared to Apple when it comes to marketing their products. Just look at Google TV.

Ok guys quick update for you. well first off update on that living social crap.... its ******ed.... the first bar code is for accesories, and the 2nd bar code is like a $25 gift card... so first bar code, is if your accessory is less than $25.. well it gets used up anyway. Cant use the whole $50 on a phone, just the $25 bottom bar code which is the gift card bar code. its RIDICULOUS but fine watever i used it anyway for some nexus accessories they had.

But the best part was, I asked the manager, if he can check for any update in the back, emails or whatever,. he did and he said the 15th, VERY CONFIDENTLY. He said 4g lte issues etc etc. But yea 15th seems to be the new date. BLAH but I was able to grasp the dummy unit and how it actually feels much smaller than the razr but yet bigger screen. thats awesome.

Don't hesitate to buy from Radioshack. I bought my EVO (back when that phone was the only 4G device) and it was a very good experience. I reserved the phone, they called me when it came in and the activation process was seemless. I'd buy from them again.

What if you wanted to return/exchange a phone? How do their policies line up with VZW? Even if I get a Nexus, it's still got to pass my tests before it's a keeper. If I've got radio issues with it, it goes back.

What I find most interesting about that article is the fact that he is essentially saying there's nothing really special about the Samsung hardware...something I've said for a long time. He essentially says this phone without ICS would have a hard time distinguishing itself.

That's one of the reasons I've said all along that going the route of an existing piece of hardware like the Razr/Rezound coupled with ICS, might actually wind up being the better software/hardware combination.

Do I know this for sure? Of course not, but it's certainly a possibility. Hate Blur, hate Sense? There's always other launchers out there guys.

Just food for thought.
You're somewhat correct that the hardware isn't revolutionary. However, how many other 720p 4.7" phones are there? Only one other HD screen (Rezound) that I know of. Early benchmarks do show that the GNex does indeed have a slim advantage, which I expect to be eclipsed very soon by better hardware.

There's always something better out on the horizon, and there's always something better for each indivudual. Some people may really like the RAZR, and I don't fault them for that. Some may really like the simplicity of a Pantech, or the color of the Rhyme. Again, different strokes for different folks.

But the point of a Nexus device isn't the hardware. It's the Nexus experience, developer support, and vanilla upgrades. Honestly, if you don't care about that, then the GNex isn't really for you.

I guess you are using the fact that there is no way Verizon will launch on Saturday or Sunday to qualify the statement that the next several days is DOA. That is 99% likely true. But Monday is by no means eliminated, and if I had to give a percentage to every day for the next 3 weeks, Monday would have the highest IMO.

True, but that's a relative statement. If tomorrow's chance is 0%, Saturday is 2% and Monday is 5%, we're still obviously betting on no launch for the next several days.

Isn't it interesting that there STILL is no official word from VZW? Doesn't that become more and more curious as time goes on?

I have been lurking on here a while and decided to register and post. I have had my upgrade since October, but was told by a family friend in the know at VZW to hold on until around Thanksgiving with the new phones rolling out (referring to Razr, Rezound, Nexus). Since then, I started researching and finally was able to decide on the Nexus, so I have been waiting even more.

Yesterday morning, I contacted a salesperson I know at the local VZW store and asked if she was working on Friday. She asked if I was wanting the Nexus, and I said yes, so she put me down for an appointment. Shortly after when the postponement was leaked, she let me know that I wouldn't be able to get it (which I had already seen on here.) So needless to say, I was disappointed.

Today at lunch, it just so happens that the VZW and AT&T folks were in our work cafeteria, so I went and asked about the Nexus. She replied that there was a meeting this morning and gave me a date of 12/12 for the Nexus. I asked how certain she was since it has been delayed a few times, and she seemed about 75% certain.

That's all I have. I hope that I will have this phone in my hand next week, but until then, my Eris somehow soldiers on...

Well, I did it. Just got my refund from my Expansys order and got one from Handtec. My impatience has beaten me once again.

Also I know it's a little late, but congrats Steven, you totally deserve it. I may not have posted much in this thread but I've followed it since day one and I couldn't imagine having to manage it.

Good bye all. o/

If a retailer sells the Galaxy Nexus tomorrow mistakenly, I will eat my phone. That's how confident I am that it wont happen. It wont be in the system. People could get fired. Retailers could lose their licenses to sell VZW phones.

Quoted for remembrance. I'll post up if I'm able to buy one tomorrow a.m. If I manage to do so, the forum will expect video of you doing the deed, now that P3 has no more phone to eat himself...

I'm kind of envious of those of you that have held the phone or even received confirmation that the stores actually had them in stock. Every store around here, including Costco and BB, have said they don't have them yet. I don't believe it, but I can't refute them.

My feeling is that someone will flip the switch at VZW and all of a sudden the GN will be available for sale. Then when I ask the store how they got them so fast, they will say they had them all along but were instructed to say they didn't. In this scenario, there will be no pre orders, but phone orders will start at the same time with overnight delivery included.

Anyway, good luck to all of us for a quick release. The phone is there, ready, perhaps a slight bug or two, and an imminent release date around the corner.
