Might as well throw another theory in the mix:

I know a lot of stores have stock already, and quite a few stores DENY having stock. Could be a simple supply issue? I remember Ms. Piggy saying something about there being plenty of stock, but that was only for one region I think. Just 2 days ago no buffalo stores would confirm they had any and still only 1 is. It's a very good possibility that all the stores do not yet have stock...

IDK about you guys but the 15th is the final date for me. If its delayed beyond that i'm joining #TeamiPhone

Why, LOL? So you can wait around for rumors of when the iPhone will finally get 4G? Rezound beats iPhone in every way, display, speed, features, unless you're talking about the entertainment value of text messages mangled in the worst possible ways and strange Siri responses. :p

OK here's the skinny...

I went to buy the phone thinking there's no way I'm walking out of this store with it. The activation went through just fine but they couldn't ring up the sku.

So they hand wrote a purchase agreement and copied my credit card (they were assuming they could run it later today when the sku was active) they never got word from their boss stating anything different from the 9th as being the launch date.

When I got home and pulled the phone out of the box I seen they called & texted, they were frantically trying to reach me of course I knew it was it was all about.
I consider these people friends and wouldn't want to see them fired. I am unemployed right now and I realize how tough it is out there.

but here is the good news...When I called Verizon to make certain that my upgrade eligabity was reset, I explained to the rep what happened. The Verizon rep was very forthcoming and told me that Verizon has not deleted the Nexus from their info guide but only hidden it, she says the release date is there and it's the 15th. I asked how she knew this and she said she really wants the Nexus so she went digging and found it, of course we all know that could change, but I don't doubt the rep for 1 second (and I usually doubt everything) that the 15th is the target date.

You are making the right choice by returning it. You will get it back in a few days and save somebody's job during the holiday season. Its not your fault that they sold it to you but you do have somebody's job in your hands and that's a serious thing.

Funny how quick the tides turn ehh! (from your previous post) Days Of Our Lives :D

Your not kidding. Funny how I had forgotten about this guy for a few months. We went to school together. His father works for Verizon and had no idea he's worked his way up the chain. Anyway long story short, he saw my post on Facebook bitching about not being able to get the Nexus today. He shoots me a quick text to say call him. In the end the 15th is the date the phone is released to be sold. He did say from what he's pried from his father that VZW has totally botched this release due to several issues. The phone had actually meant to be released two weeks ago. Or at least that's what they were hoping for.

What case/holster did you get?

The holster was just a knock-off I bought at a flea market. I searched through a bin for the biggest one they had and bought it like 4 months ago lol. At the time I wasn't sure if I was going to get the Vigor or the Nexus Prime :D but I knew both were big phones.

The case I got is the TPU case people have mentioned in this thread. It's really well constructed. Matte Back Smoke TPU Case & Screen Protector for Galaxy Nexus - $9.90 : TPU-CASES.COM, - All TPU Cases Shipped Free in the USA

From The Source: The situation, as I've been told, is that it's all corporate decisions.

And this, ladies and gentelemen, is why Verizon is pure evil. If there were any doubts, there's your proof. They don't care about their customers. They are deliberately delaying this phone for no other reason than to boost their bottom line.

This is good news to me because I was starting to think the delay was originating from some kind of major issue with the phone, BUT WHY DID I THINK THAT? I HELD THE PHONE MYSELF? (I'm going insane).

Enjoy!

"corporate decisions" is a euphemism for "shove the razr down everyone's throats as much as possible"? Sick of my current phone may go look at SII's today if nothing this afternoon.

The 15th has sounded like a realistic release date for a while. From a logistics standpoint, I remember there was talk around November 22 that the supply had not shipped to the US. Taking into account the shipping process, customs, warehouse stocking, then shipping to individual stores, the 15th makes sense. Especially since there have been plenty of Verizon stores that have them right now and plenty that do not and have not received their shipments yet. I'm really wondering if this is all a matter of waiting on supply to get to all of their stores. Then again I could be totally wrong. But, my prediction as of last month (on Androidcentral) was that we wouldn't see them go on sale until at least the 15th, but probably the week of the 22nd.

Here's to hoping it's the 15th... though my wife and I will be on a cruise for a week starting this Sunday. Hope everyone gets theirs!

The 15th was mentioned several times in the past. I don't remember who posted it but it was back in the middle 60,000 range I thought. The individual was dispelling the early December (9th) release and was adamant about the 15th.

You are correct, that is not the i515. Can't remember what the model number of the GSM is, but that is the specs for it.

Last night I spoke with a tech from Bell and she told be the Nexus would work for Verizon but 3g only! Not fully satisfied I went to Samsung and chatted with a Rep. For almost 30 min. and he confirmed the 3g only as long as it's unlocked.

Well I only have till the 13th to Return my Rezound . I think I'm going to go in this weekend an exchange my Rezound for an Iphone 4S . And use it until the Nexus come out . Reason being is I think when I go to sell the Iphone I'll get more money for it then I would the Rezound
Originally I wanted to compare the Rezound and Nexus side by side but after almost a month with it I can not deal with Sense even with launchers over it , it just bothers me and it makes me miss my CM7 Thunderbolt that I gave to my mom . It will be fun to play with Siri for a few days anyways haha
