Yes. Yes I am..as compared to a local-dimming LED-backlit LCD. I'm well aware of the baggage LCD carries and have owned some of the ones earned it, but that's not the case anymore. I used to be the biggest phosphor snob in town, because there was simply no viable competition. I changed my mind as LCD tech evolved.

I stand corrected, but it wasn't like they posted it a week or 10 days before the release...so many are freaking out bc of the lack of an announcement, but like the Fascinate, if there is an announcement, it will be within 24 hours.

Oh I agree. Which is why I haven't discounted Thursday yet. If there were any word, it could be tomorrow.

I don't understand why there needs to be an "official Verizon announcement" for the phone to be released...

How often is there an "official" announcement? I remember when I bought the Samsung Fascinate...there was a rumored release date (maybe 10/8 or 10/20 but I can't remember) and my rep just gave me a call when it came out without there being any "official announcement.

I don't think Verizon typically announces or advertises anything until the phone has been released.

Also, why are people saying this target date is any less credible than the 9th? There is probably more rumored confirmations for the 15th than there was for the 9th...we have several leaked documents as well.

Maybe I'm just being optimistic, but I can't help but think it's sounding pretty good.

I bought mine in September online when it was exactly released on the 8th well got to order it was actually mentioned the day right before...It just helps if it's at least updated on the website. That way we know we can buy it. I wish Verizon didn't make it much of a mess for updating the release info on the phones. For all we know if there was no speculation, the phone would have dropped in a store where everyone was clueless until someone stops by a store and posts it up causing a huge delayed frenzy.

This is not a flagship Verizon device. It's flagship Google. But may as well be a red-headed step child to Verizon.

Btw, I called VZ to check if I can bring my GN with me on the ship and use it. Unfortunately I'll be screwed up the ass with roaming charges in the Caribbean. Which means I'll have to leave the phone back the FIRST week I have her, or just keep her on ap mode.

Edit: I figured they might let people slide considering the Bahamas is a U.S. Territory

Usually they sell wireless on the ship at a cheaper rate than offered by Verizon. They may even sell minutes, I don't recall....

I wouldn't conisder any phone besides the droids a flagship device for verizon
