I see there are problems getting updates from Bell Canada for the android phones (I hadn't even realized I was only at 2.3.3) ... Where can you get the update for Incredible S? I see there are updates for other models but I'm not sure if they will run on this phone. What is the difference between the update and references to firmware or are they the same? What impact does it have on your phone if you apply outside of Bell support? How difficult is it to apply? Does it void your warranty? Please note I am technically void and a complete noobie regarding this phone. I am not rooted (whatever that means) thus am seeking assistance from the experts here.
The reason I am interested in 2.3.5 is that perhaps it will solve an issue with my phone that I am noticing ... after using the keyboard in any applications (messages, internet, google) it gradually lags more and more.... to the point its unusuable. I have to power off and on and it is fine again for another 60 minutes. Thus I reboot the phone 10 or more times a day. Quite frankly I'm ready to chuck the thing out the window. The phone was fine to start but gradually getting worse each day. Something is choking it. Figured it was an app I had installed but as I remove everything I installed it still hasn't got any better. I've cleared cache and moved things to the SD card but no impact. The one thing I am wondering about is the VIPRE Virus app I installed ... that it maybe causing a slowdown? It didn't at first ... any ideas on what / how I resolve this choking would also greatly be appreciated in addition to the 2.3.5 question from Bell.
