Mine got worse after the update as well. They sent me a new sim card, and assured me that was the problem. That did not fix it, called them back today, now they say I need a new phone. The replacement phone will be here tomorrow. If that doesn't fix it I give up on the Bionic.

It is possible they are working on the network and the people you are talking to don't know.

Are you 3G-Only or 3G/4G?
Did you try turning off 4G?

Do you know anyone else in your area with Verizon who you could ask how they are doing?

I'm 3G only. It was a yo-yo for about 10 days. Then it stopped. If it was the Bionic it should be the most amazing phone in the worked. The people in the store had no information to share.

I'm in a 3G only area, I did turn it to CDMA only earlier. I'll see if that helps. Last night my gf and her relative were having connection issues but one of the phones is a Razr and he thinks he might have turned something off...not real sure. I hope they get this fixed, I'm starting to get irritated with losing data.

Androidpolice.com posted an article today that explains why the LTE phones are having so many data issues: This Is Why Your Verizon Galaxy Nexus (Or Other 4G LTE VZW Phone) Is Losing Its Data Connection

I don't know if it's right, but it sounds reasonable.

Just as I speculated. Something to do with authentication. Although I was thinking more of an overload on their cell towers. Verizon should have tested this out before switching everything over. So now many people are unhappy with their connections. Hopefully Verizon smooths everything out and we can all enjoy our phones.

I am in a 4g area, I know several with 4g devices, one of which is a bionic. They are all getting great coverage, with the exception of the bionic. We both have data issues. Both got terribly worse after the OTA went out. He got his device replaced already and is still having issues. Hopefully the replacement will be better for me. If not I am up for my upgrade and will be moving on to a different device. Fingers crossed.

The article ... This Is Why Your Verizon Galaxy Nexus (Or Other 4G LTE Verizon Phone) Is Losing Its Data Connection ... seems to suggest the a new SIM card might fix it for you.

You might want to try a new SIM card in your current phone.

I had lots of data connection problems, even when set to CDMA only. It does not seem any better after update and may actually be worse. This is absurd. You rely on these phones to be connected for important emails at work and half the time I pull it out of its case on my belt and look at it there is no connection. I guess I'll have to wade through all the muck speaking to verizon reps who know nothing until someone finally agrees there is an issue and sends me a new phone that may or may not help the issue. This is a lot of wasted time and effort.

Not sure if this will happen when just stationary in a good coverage area? Has anyone seen this, who is not in battery saver mode or switching out of wifi but just stationary in a good signal area?
From what I have seen it seems to happen most often in marginal areas, where it searches between towers or when turning off wifi. (Or going from 4g to 3g but I gave up on 4g a while ago!) Or if the signal gets blocked for a long moment like in an elevator or deep inside a big building. When you get back into the known good area it just does not connect. Bars show but no 3g or 4g or even 1x, just no data at all. This is very bad. I am surprised this is not a bigger issue or being better covered by the mainstream media yet. I would think the competition would be all over this.

Well I have been having some serious data issues over the last week to week and a half. I started to notice my corporate sync account for my work email was getting authentication errors. Tried CDMA only and that still did not fix it. tried a reboot of the phone and that seemed to work but failed again later on. tried airplane mode and that did not fix it. Sometimes my corporate sync works on 3G/4G and sometimes it does not. I did notice that when I went home and got my bionic on my wireless my corporate sync worked every time.

I have also had issues with losing total data connection and airplane mode will not work. If I am on CDMA only sometimes it will go white and not blue and stay that way. This also happens in LTE.

And as I write this my 3G has full bars and is white.

I just have a feeling if I call or walk into a store they will really have no idea what to do with this.

My phone has been great connectivity wise since I got it. 4g connection in my apartment and my office in Chicago where I never got 3g before this phone. Last 2 days, I only get 4g connection when I am walking around the city. Nothing at all in my apartment or my office anymore. Not sure if they are still fixing various aspects of the LTE network, or if whatever they did changed my service this badly, but I have a hard time believing that it's the phone right now since it's worked fine since September and nothing happened to the phone in the last 2 days.
