What's up guys and girls?

So I bought a Behold 2 a couple of weeks back and besides the lagging performance I really love the phone. Well, two days ago I decided to download PandaHome + Chrome Theme + Beautiful Widgets.

Needless to say my home screen looked better than ever. I filled all three homescreens with widgets and shortcuts but after using the phone for a few hours I gave up on how slow the phone had gotten. I then deleted all widgets and shortcuts from screens 1 and 3 and the phone got reasonable again, but still bad.

After that I uninstalled and installed PandaHome again but that gave me no change. Still extremely slow. Meaning, lagging when typing, scrolling down/up on the menu, accessing applications, etc. Plus, when activated the iPhone and Hero locking screens do not let me access the notification bar (unveil top bar).

I'd appreciate any help on:
-speeding up system
-troubleshooting lockscreen issue.

Sorry for the novel

Hey,

Two pieces of advice for you.

First, look for "Automatic Task Killer" on Market. Install and set it to kill anything you don't want running all the time, it really cuts down the lag.

Then, look for "Spare Parts" on Market. Install it and set the animation speed to fast, it also will speed things up a bit,

Best of luck.

Thanks for the help.

I'm already running Taskiller and Spare Parts and they do a great job. My problem was really a software problem with PandaHome making my phone extra sluggish. I run GDE now and the phone is much more responsive. Next step now will be Galaxy as soon as I get the OTA update.

Sounds like you got your problem fixed, or at least managed. I was going to recommend Open Home. It only costs like $3, but it appears to be pretty smooth for me and has some nice skins.

Plus it comes with a Memory Optimizer widget. Not sure if it actually works, but I tend to click it after I kill my apps.

Here's what my BH2 looks like on the home page:

For some reason, my bar at the top doesn't show on my screen shots. Oh well.

not task killer that will not do the job * AUTO KILLER * works with your phones virtual system aka Dalvik machine and its GC "Garbage Collector" which reclaims unused memory for the system . Auto killer tweaks the GC so you can tell it when to reclaim memory and where , but be warned READ THE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY before you start . This app basically gives you access to the phone's internal task killer...
BTW you are gonna need ROOT access ..

that theme is the hero theme for open home, the origonal stock looks like andorid stock.

What he said. Dark Hero is a cool theme I use, and that one in particular is the Hero theme for Open Home. The weather/clock at the top is Weather Widgets Donate. The Open Home gets rid of the stupid TouchWiz (app window sliding from the side) and takes it to the bottom where it should be.
