The patent system is seriously broken. Patents are supposed to be limited to non-obvious ideas but none of the patent examiners were born after computers were invented so anything that uses a computer can now be patented. There is probably a patent on using a computer (smartphone) to dial a phone number. I'm going to patent green grass and blue skies so everyone on the planet has to pay me every time they open their eyes. Bwahahaha!!!

As I said, this is a non-issue:

In a statement to CNET, HTC general counsel Grace Lei said: "We are gratified that the commission affirmed the judge's initial determination on the '721 and '983 patents, and reversed its decision on the '263 patent and partially on the '647 patent. We are very pleased with the determination and we respect it. However, the '647 patent is a small UI experience and HTC will completely remove it from all of our phones soon."

HTC will make it possible to dial the number from the email, but just not save it. That is their workaround for the patent.
We would still be able to "dial" it, hang up right away and save the last dialed number if that was our goal. Our own workaround in tandem with their workaround. Easy.
Wonder how much was spent on this lawsuit alone?

And yes, the Rezound is the latest phone out by HTC. But All Android manufacturers will have to abide by the rules to sell in U.S. and they still have until April 12th (I think)
You could also get the Rhyme...
