Root MikG's ROM Lockscreen Issues

Every MikG rom I've flashed has a lock screen issue. Normally the 2.59 version wasn't messing up for me but it just did today. As soon as it hit under 15% and I try to open it to check my messages, the lock screen is non existent. The only way to get in my phone is doing a battery pull. Wiping cache and dalvik cache isn't working to fix the problem and is getting on my nerves. This is one of the best ROMs on my phone but this MAJOR problem is getting troublesome. Any help?

Try reflashing the ROM after you download superwipe and wipe everything except for SD card at least once. Then flash superwipe then your ROM of choice

Okay, while you were typing that I had flashed superwipe and then I wiped the cache, dalvik, and the first thing again. the super wipe said it did everything so I was scared to touch anything else. I'm flashing Nocturnal's Shooter Port for evo4g. Have u heard anything about this rom? I know it's sense 3.0 so it's not gonna be that forgiving on battery life

I'm running mik3dand its battery life isnt too bad. Its nothing like Classic EVO for me but meh.

If your not running the new amon ra based recovery I would suggesting switching to it. When you go to wipe, literally start at the top of the list and do everything in order till you get to the very bottom where SD card is, and then dont wipe that

Yea got rid of the other ROM because i did something and my settings disappeared -_-. So I rebooted back into recovery, did everything except anything that said SD and did the super wipe, installed the ROM MikG v3.0 and it's working good so far. I just don't want my lock screen to go away again lol I like this rom. It only happens when I'm using the standard 3D looking lock screen. if I use honeycomb or stock android, it's fine

Only one of the things in recovery that starts with SD is actually the full SD card with your data. I forget what amon ra calls it ( which is another good reason to use the new recovery, it is much more clear about what your wiping), but SD-ext and SD- android secure are safe to wipe and should be done.

With the lockscreen issue, I know that the MikRoms (and I guess other 3.0 lockscreen roms) will put a low battery notifier on your lockscreen when you get under either 15 or 20%, so maybe there's some kind of weird corrupted file or something. So maybe a bad download or something? I've never seen anyone else report that issue.

It might have been a bad download but I'm not in the mood to reflashing it now because I had to do that a few times yesterday and set it up every time and it was still messing up on me.

Completely off subject of this thread but talking about the same rom, attached are my screenshots of my battery from last night. I charged it to 100 and when I woke up this morning it was around 60 something. I know it was 'new' on my phone but when you're not doing anything it should do anything right? I think one of the apps I was using just kept waking up for no reason but I'm not sure.

Since you have wifi on you should be getting great battery life (I can get 3.5 days)

However, battery life sucks when you first flash. Leave it be and see if you have the same issues after a day or so.

Also, try wiping battery stats from recovery or through a calibration app

I was thinking that as well and was very shocked when I woke up to these terrible readings. I think it was a rogue app. No Facebook app (official or Friendcaster) has ever liked my phone.

That's really weird. Two things I can think of.

What kernel is that with, and how long has it settled for? I really like to use Battery Monitor Widget to see how much juice my battery is pulling for situations like this. Even with the stock HTC kernel, my phone sips about -20 ma while on wifi and sleeping. I would get this app and install it as a widget. Then you can at least see if your battery is drawing power like it should.

Second, I would check out my guide for checking wakelocks and use BetterBatteryStats to see if you have any rogue processes. I posted a link to the free version that should give you all the info you need. But from looking at your graph, it seems fine. It looks like the "signal" line is kind of yellowish. What do you see when you go to your phone idle or phone standby information? Were you roaming? It should list the % time spent roaming.

I actually don't roam as much as I think I should. I have low signal here but it's above roaming.

Random update, just popped on the top of my brain and I thought I'd share it. With ROMs we all know that it comes with some apps, depending on the developer. I usually delete a LOT of the apps that come with new ROMs as long as they aren't important.

I just realized that every time I delete the Wallpaper from the MikG ROMs (2.59, 2.61, 3.0) it makes my sense lockscreen disappear. I never knew what it was and I kept deleting it and there goes the lock screen.

Simply put, DON'T DELETE WALLPAPER! Lol
