So. I'm trying to partition using gparted. I have mounted usb storage in recovery, but gparted won't show my card in the list.

I don't know what to do to make it see it, since I have no card reader. I've tried connecting the phone at different times during startup, and it DOES recognize that I've connected my phone (text starts flowing). But still nothing when I get to the user interface where I can partition.

I have in desperation tried ROM Manager but that won't work either, just reboots into cwm and gives an error about "unexpected character at 'u' Syntax error in update script".

Do I need to use some other partitioning program in Windows, like Best Free Partition Manager Freeware for Windows 7, Windows Vista, and Windows XP 32 bit & 64 bit. MiniTool Free Partition Manager Software Home Edition. now or what? I don't WANT to! I want my card to be like every other card and play happily with gparted.

In CWM mount it as USB mass storage BEFORE connecting the usb. Wait until it gets to the keyboard mapping/language selction screens and connect it at that point.

Also dont forget that you have to change the drive in teh top right corner of gparted and if you are using a Virtual machine, ensure the usb device is connected to the guest NOT the host.
