Bigger Battery?

I’ve tried battery saver apps, still use Juice Defender, but one thing seems universal: if I just keep the phone in my pocket, the battery lasts a very long time. But if I use it for anything -- calls, web, even playing solitaire, the battery can die in a few hours.

So, surrendering to the limits of the Optimus, I’m considering this

3600mAh Extended Battery + Black Cover for LG Optimus S U V LS670. Should I trade a few bucks and 1/4” of pocket space for a stronger, longer-lasting battery? Any of you done this already and watcha think? Is there an even better one you can point me to?

...just tried this amazing device called a ruler. Adding a quarter inch thickness is ginourmous!

There are also portable battery backup chargers

Like maybe a Hand-Crank Charger for Cell Phones and USB Devices?

Anyway, Plan A seems too thick to live with, so maybe this cranker would be handy for emergencies.
