Tasks or Shopping List that is Sharable

So my Wife and I are both attached to our HTC Heros and do everything with them. We both use the gTasks - Beta on the phone and love it. We share calendars so that we both know what the other one is doing as to not plan something that will conflict with the other one.

I would love to be able to share tasks. gTasks uses Google Tasks which so far is not a sharable item.

We came up with this great idea of using a Tasks program or a Shopping List program to put our shopping list on. We want this to be shared with each other so that whoever finds them self in a store, can see what we need to get. Out luck always works out that when I end up being in the store, the list is at home or she has it.

If there is not a shopping list program that allows the sharing of lists...someone please add this feature to your software. This would be an app that I would be willing to pay for on the market...Twice..one for me and one for her. Thanks.

My wife and I use "OurGroceries". Even though it was designed for groceries we make todo lists in it also. You create the name of each list so you can have "husband todo", "wife todo", etc. They sync with each other perfectly. In the options you put in an email address (put the exact SAME email address in all the phone that want to share the lists) and your sharing all the lists. It is one of my favorite apps. Whenever one of us see's that were out of something, it immediately gets added to the list. Shampoo, toothpaste, bread, milk, lightbulb, whatever. We are good at adding things immediately and it really help when you make a stop at the store. Pull up the lists and you never forget anything! Then, when your at the store, you can each go your own way to get things fast. When you pick something up, click on that item in the list and it goes away on both phones within about 2 seconds. You can now share with android phones, iphones and blackberries. My wife actually has the storm and it works great on both phones.

Hope that helps

I forgot to mention the drawback to it. I often get some weekdays off while my wife is at work. I'll start the day with a couple things on my todo list, but things get added to it faster than I can get them done. I'll start with 2 but at the end of the day I will have completed 8 and have 10 others I didn't get to.

I use TadaList: To do list, simple, easy, fast, sharable: Ta-da List to share a grocery list. It's very basic, web-based (no app required other than a browser) and free. Sharing is quite easy, just use the same account. It also has a nice mobile view on the Android.

Thanks for the referral! I'll give that a try for a while. We tried something else of a similar nature for a while, but it had a complicated user interface and we never really quite got into it.

This looks very straightforward (once I figured out that the yellow box with "Done!" in it was a button and not a notification :) -- check boxes would have been easier and clearer, but I guess I can deal with it).

My wife and I use "OurGroceries". ...

Hope that helps...

Yes it does, thanks! Though I've been using TadaList, I took a look at OurGroceries and I really like it. I had some questions and feature suggestions so I emailed the developer and got extremely quick and useful responses.

I was concerned because items you check off of a list disappear after 20 minutes. The developer recommended that I create a Recipe that includes regularly purchased items; that way, you can just go through that Recipe and tap on items that need to be added to your shopping list. Very cool.

I love the way this app looks and the way it behaves.

You should give cloudList a try.
I'm one of the devs for it, so I apologize if this just comes out like a huge advertisement, but this problem is pretty much the core reason why we made this app in the first place.

You can sync and share your lists.
We have a website with which our app syncs to: cloudlist.quarterstaf.com
It's very much collaboration oriented so aside from the typical things you expect on a List app, you can vote on items and leave comments.

It's free so you should give it a try and let me know what you think. There is a paid version, but the only difference is the lack of ads on the top.

Cheers,
Andrew
