Boost will be getting the LG Marquee

It seems like Boost is Sprint's high end pre-paid division, and Virgin Mobile is their bargain pre-paid division.

Virgin Mobile has not really offered a mid-level or better Android phone since the failure of the Motorola Triumph.

Sprint may favor Boost, since they only have a $55 per month plan, while Virgin offers 3 tiers - $35, $45 and $55 per month.

The Shrinkage on Boost is also an interesting concept. Personally, I had to switch to the $55 unlimited plan on VM because I was using the cell phone so much for mobile calls. Right now Boost looks like a better option for me, unless I go with a different pre-paid carrier, and the only other one that would work for me is T-Mobile. Metro PCS is crap, and Cricket is not fully supported in my area.

I'm ambivalent about just WHAT VM is. If not for the Triumph, I would say VM is the lower end brand. But the Triumph puts the carpet out from under my theory.

The one thing I am starting to like about Boost is that most of their Android phones are ones that have been offered on Sprint. The Sprint customers have already tested these phones, so there is already a lot of feedback on those phones. Why should VM users field test the phones if the manufacturers like Motorola do not properly test these phones and are unwilling to provide software updates for them, like they are doing with the Triumph?

The Triumph was a new "high end" phone for VM, but it took months of many frustrated VM users posting their negative feedback to determine that the Triumph was not a reliable phone. Many people like the phone, and many people disliked the phone. The mixed feedback on that phone is a reason why I decided against the Triumph.

Boost also offers a Blackberry, which VM cut out of their line up. Even though this is an Android forum, it is critical for a cell phone company to offer a variety of choices. I bet that Boost will eventually offer a Windows Phone 7 phone, which will enhance their line up. I just do not see that coming from VM. It appears that VM is trying to compete with pre-paid providers like MetroPCS. Cheapest plans and cheapest phones.
