Help Wi-fi...killer of batteries...

Just gave up the iPhone 4 for a Skyrocket. Initially I was shocked at how pathetic the battery life is but have tweaked my way to a more manageable day. First off, I was stunned that wi-fi would drain the battery as quickly as it does. From everything I read I assumed LTE would kill the battery and I was going to be very proactive about connecting to wi-fi wherever I went. With a brand new phone and a full charge at 9am I would find my battery down to less than 30% by 2pm (with very little use at all of the phone or data, maybe 15 minutes of phone time and less than 10 minutes web/app use). Turning wi-fi off made a massive difference. With wi-fi on the phone would drain about 10-12% of the battery per hour. With wi-fi off the phone only loses about 3% of its battery life per hour. I can now go 20some hours with average use of the phone and data.
