I get notifications, faster on my iPod, than on my phone

Why is that? I usually keep the WiFi on, on my iPod Touch, thats how I get the notifications. Lets say I'm on Twitter or FB, and someone writes to me, I get the notification first on my iPod.. Then a few minutes later, on my phone. Sometimes it takes my phone 3 minutes, to alert me, or sometimes even longer. Is this normal, or am I over-thinking it?

The exact same thing happened to me. It took about 3-4 min with TweetCaster....So now I use Twitter for LG and its about 30 secs. With the Facebook update, those notifications seem to come through a lot faster as well.

So that maybe explains it. because I'm using Twitter/FB alternatives, on my phone, and the regular apps for Twitter/FB, for my iPod.

Another explanation could be the update interval time you have set on the other applications. The settings are typically set to every 30 mins instead of 5 or whatever is lower for the sake of better battery life. (Each time the application updates, it uses the internet connection and after a while, that could really kill your battery. Two minutes of web browsing on 4G = 2% of my battery.( which is freaking ridiculous but you get the point I'm trying to make)

would be faster than metros, but most any good wifi connection will still be faster.
