Where the Sakura grows
My 3 years contract is going to expire soon. I am eligible for an upgrade now. I don't know if I should stay with Rogers and negotiate my next contract.

I am curious to what everyone's contract is right now?

Right now my contract consists of

$20 - 200 minutes & evening and weekends
$30 - 6 GB of data
$5 - value package negotiated upon last contract (caller ID, Voice Mail, 2500 texts and early evening at 6pm and 50 additional minutes)
$10 - Tablet plan
$7.70 - 911 & System Fees
72.7
9.5 - tax
82 - total

I'm going to renegotiate a different value pack and drop the system access fees or lower it. Have early evenings at 5 and some kind of long distance minutes.

I am not sure if I should maybe go to WIND Mobile for its cheaper plan. Unlimited everything for $40. I visit families outside of the GTA, so I like the idea of not paying for roaming when I'm out of the WIND zone.

Has anyone switched to WIND from Rogers? Your thought?

Thanks,
Roze

Here's my plan below. Contract up Feb 2013 and I might switch to Wind if they are in my zone by that point (they are just outside of my zone now). I only have 1gb data total.

Very similar to what I have now. Are you happy with your plan?

Yes i am at some point. I would like to reduce my bill but being in Qc the alternative are not so great. The smartphone line-up and OS upgrade speed are mostly deceiving when compared to Bell or Telus. I'm savy enough to keep up with the latest rom on XDA to keep my phone up to par without having to wait for Rogers.

I did have a look at Public mobile and Wind but its either not implemented yet (for my sector) or i would always have roaming charge when going out of the town. Other carriers like Videotron could lower my bill but their phone line-up are not so great and i would also face a roaming charge since it has a limited network. For now Rogers is the best for me and have no desire or good incentive to change to Bell. I eared terrible customer service issues at Bell from people who have accounts with them, even Rogers as horror story, but luckily i'm touching wood and only had some minor annoyance on Rogers (My account app did not show my data usage for 4 months).

I have pretty good luck with Rogers CRS so I'm not complaining. My objective is to see if I can lower my bill by $10-15. Hopefully that's not asking for too much, lol.
