Doesn't google maps already provide this (minus the speed cams?)

Hi gizbug,

The idea is to provide info traffic where Google Maps doesn't. When you drive the application is collecting your speed and send it to my server which displays the measures on custom tiles my application is displaying over Google Maps.

You can also notify other users for accident or speed traps.

The application is also logging your trip so you can export it and share it with your friends.

There are a lot more options and the best way to understand what my app is offering more than Google Maps is to use it.

Please let me know if something is missing or not working.

Hi all,

For now a week, Google decided to not provide Traffic Info for Europe for third party application using Google Maps. This issue is very strange as genuine Google Maps application continue to provide this service. But, US continue to have Traffic Info service without any problem on third party applications.
This issue is not justified by Google anywhere and no date is provided to tell us when Traffic Info will be available if it will ! From my point of view, this issue is due to Navigation service Google is preparing for Europe. It has been written on the net that it has to renegotiate contract with other companies to provide the service.
In the meantime, I decided to prepare a version of Real Time Traffic that provides Info Traffic on top of the Map (don't ask me how it's a secret
icon_smile.gif
!).
This version will be beta but pushed anyway on the market in one or two days to allow users to keep on having Traffic Info in my app. Even if the display is not that nice, it will be available for phones having Android 1.6 and earlier versions.

For the ones who what to test this version before it is available in the Market, feel free to send me a mail to the address available on the market and I'll explain them how to get it.

Hi Jay-Eff,

Thanks for your feedback.
As this software is free it's success only depends on comments on the market. Can you rate and comment my app on the market?

Nice app. What does the little button in the middle on the main screen that turns blue do?

Hi,

Sorry, for the moment my app is not well documented in English but I'm working on it.

The button in the middle allows you to center the map on your location (Follow Me mode). The blue point in the middle tells you if the "Follow Me" mode is enabled or not.
When you touch the map, the "Follow Me" mode is automatically disabled to let you have a look far from your location and the blue point disappears to tell you are leaving the "Follow Me" mode.
The "Follow Me" mode is also disabled when you search for a location using the "Search" menu.

A very cool-looking app (downloaded just now on 16-March), but on startup it has placed me and my Droid Eris (Android 1.5) in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Google Maps correctly places me in Bethesda, MD.

All 3 checkboxes are checked in my Location Settings for "Use wireless networks", "Location Setting" and "Enable GPS Satellites"
