Don't know if it's 4.0.4 as I won't be installing it until I see a few reports!

Got it this morning, not rooted, stock system, no battery popping, no enquiring on update status, it just appeared. Download (? 37+Mb??) - I updated, it seems fine, delay on screen rotation lag much reduced.

Kinda feels bit quicker overall ..

On Tesco Mobile[uses O2], UK, Berkshire

got it this morning at 02.30,yakju nexus,sim free,unlocked here in UK.no problems,some small changes..smoother..faster..camera better.nexus rules..

I have checked since, mine is 4.0.4. Completely stock from 3 in UK.

Not installed it yet though.

Look in the market for a free app called galaxy nexus official update
That will tell you where you updates are from
Mine says yakju and updates come from Google

When I hit this my Play shop tells me my device isn't compatible to even install the app!!!

Try this one:

1 go settings/apps then hit the all button at the top 2 Scrll down to goggle service framwork then press it to open it 3 Hit the clear button 4 go to settings/about phone/System updates the date will be 1969 or 1970 this is ok 5 Hit the check button 6 nexus should now show update to 4.0.4 is Available 7 hit install and enjoy


I had to do this around ten times and it actually worked got this on a post from another forum. Some people have had to do it only one or twice and its worked try it.

Did the framework trick last night and i got the notification 1st time i checked.

I didnt reboot the phone either between clearing data and checking for update.

Just pressed check now buttom and BAM!!!!! update available.

I had been trying the normal way for days before this without success with clearing data and just trying to get it legit.

I also had wifi on which i think helps find the update better than over mobile data.

Looking to now return my phone to the stock branch... as I seem to be running a funky version of 4.0.3 for a UK Nexus S - are we a I9020A or I9020T and what was the out of the box version!?

I'd like to stick to the main OTA upgrades without root. Any good idiot guides?

BAM! About the 10th time of trying the clear cache the download is available... phew. Wasn't looking forward to clearing it all down!

Root and flash rather than waiting for ota updates.
