After months of living with placing my phone in the cupholder in the center consol (run a charger from the center console arm rest area), I'll be moving the charger to the front 12v to run up to my vent as I finally placed my order. Been putting it off for about 3 months now, and finally decided to go for it. I'm guessing about a week's time?

I just got my XWAY for Christmas! I had asked for the FIXWAY but I'm actually glad I got the XWAY instead. This way I can take it from car to car with me instead of it being stuck in one car. Can't wait to try it out later. Thanks again to GoBlueJD for the great review and turning me on to Tetrax! :)

Glad I helped out. Till this day, this is the BEST accessory I have ever purchase. All my friends have them now, and gave several for presents.

Has anyone who has the XWAY noticed that it's hard for it to get a firm grip on the car vent? I tried to put it on my vent 5 times and it would pull off easily when any force was applied. I have found a nice spot to put it where it's not AS bad, but it's still not on there as solidly as I'd like. Am I doing something wrong or is this just how it is? I was thinking I could maybe take a pair of pliers and gently try screwing it on tighter since I physically can not make it any tighter with my fingers. If I can't find a resolution for this I may try and exchange it for the FIXWAY. On the bright side, I absolutely LOVE this thing! It's a great product. On my way to work earlier with my Inc on the XWAY I turned my phone to landscape, plugged my tape transmitter into the headphone jack and started watching a scene from The Town which I thought was the coolest shit in the world :D

I mostly use my fix way, however every now and then I noticed when using the xway it would loosen every now and then. But I always retightened and it seemed to hold for a while. Maybe email CS and see if they will exchange? In any case I love the fixway and use the xway when traveling in GF car.

Are your vents thin?

No, they're not too thin. I'd say they're normal? They're the same size as the vents in the other 4 cars that I'm constantly in. After posting last night it seems to be a little better. I think I'm still going to try the pliers, gently, of course to see if I can get a tighter grip

BlueJD...I was wondering, since you've bought some many products from Tetrax, if you have a working email address for them or any way to contact them? I've tried sending 3 emails to the address from their website (walmec@walmec.com) and haven't received a response yet. I'm still having the same issue with my xway not staying on my vent and I was hoping I could exchange it for a fixway. Thanks in advance

I have another email address in which I got from when I did reviews. Check PM's.

Hello gang! I bought the x way a few days ago and one thing im noticing is I have to constantly retighten the xway knob so that the clip does not come off the vent when I pull it off. Is anyone else having this issue? I love the mount. Hate having to retighten it every time before I place my phone on it.

Any tips? Ideas? Defective unit maybe?

For the most part it holds but the next day I will notice slack in the knob and be able to twist it more like the vice grips have loosed over the night..

Mine did after a while as well, however I switched to the FIXWAY. Contact them and see if they will exchange.

Thank you for the reply!

I actually bought the FIXway as well. I bought the Xway incase I had a bad experience with the fixway metal magnets that you fix to your cars dash with the heat I get living in las vegas....

The inside of my car can easily get to 100+ degrees and have yet to test it out in the middle of the summer. I got the xway in case the FIXway magnets melt or come off the dash. so that I can fix the phone to the vent as a back up... well, i love the way the xway works so Im actually keeping the FIX way for my gps and the Xway for my phone...

Awesome products that's for sure!

Has anyone ran into any issues with summer heat melting the glue used to stick the FIXway magnets to your dash?

I have not any problem at all. I live in NW Indiana and car temps easily get to 100+ in the car with my black interior.

Side note, the car I review above was in my Mazda CX-9. I just traded in and got a F150 FX4. I went to pry the square metal part that I put on my dash and ended up just leaving it. I was in a rush to grab all my crap out of the car and did not want to damage the radio/dash. So that sucker is on there, and good.
