File Upload will be posted by MrB206 seeing as my computer wont let me upload the file. So look for the link in the second post when he gets it up and going.

Here is how to un-brick your lg spectrum by flashing the stock firmware using the KDZ method. First off you will need to unzip the spectrum unbrick folder. In this folder you will find the Lg Tools folder and the .cab file need to unbrick your phone and set it back to stock. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR PHONE HAS AT LEAST A 80% CHARGE ON IT WHEN YOU DO THIS.

READ THE INSTRUCTIONS THAT ARE INCLUDED IN THE FOLDER AND YOU WILL MAKE IT THROUGH THE SETUP PROCESS WITH NO PROBLEMS AND YOUR PHONE WILL BE LIKE NEW.

Step one:

Unzip Spectrum Un-brick folder

Step two:

Unzip the LG Tools folder that is in the Spectrum un-brick folder. Save this folder on your "C:/" drive.

Step Three:

Move the VS920ZV3_02.S3_02.58012.R5.cab file to the root of your "C:/" drive so its no longer in the folder.

Step Four:

Put your phone in download mode by holding down Volume UP+Volume Down and plug it into your usb cord connected to your computer.

Step Five:

Open the LG Tools folder and run KP500-Utils-EN.exe
Once you have that running choose option I and press enter
Now enter VS920 and press enter
Now enter C:\VS920ZV3_02.S3_02.58012.R5.cab and press enter
Now enter VS920ZV3_02.S3_02.58012.R5 and press enter

Step Six:

Sit back and let your computer do the work. It should take around 20-30 minuets and you will be back to stock. And if you get a window that pops up saying your devices isnt connected just click restart and it will keep going. I hope that this helps whoever may need it. I have used this method many times now to bring my phone back from the dead.

Click on the file named Full_Spectrum_Un-Brick_tool.zip and you should have all the files needed to restore your phone. good luck.

Are you including the drivers and .cab file in this package? Also, you are missing the step about installing the LG Update tool program. Finally, have you gotten this to work without disabling the LG modem driver under windows?

my phone can't be turn on,when i plug in the usb cable, the buttons below flashes, the screen is black, will anyone help how to unbrick it?

Do a battery pull to power off you phone all the way. Then from the powered off state hold the vol up+vol down while plugging in you phone to your computer. If your lucky thos will put you in download mode and then you should be able to flash the stock firmware.

I recently had a fellow have the same thing happen and if I remember correctly, it was because his battery was dead. In the end his charger just couldn't keep up with his battery use, even over night. Are you buy chance using your PC to try and charge your phone? If so, try using the AC charger that came with the phone. If that fails you may have to take it in to Verizon as no amount of software will fix a dead battery.

I change another battery, the same result, using the AC charger that came with the phone doesn't help.

I had that issue when I got my first spectrum, my phone took the v4 ota while low on battery, sound muted, in my pocket. It sat on the box with the arrow and Android guy. When I charged and rebooted, I was stuck in a boot loop. I was without a computer for the next 2 or 3 days, so I went to Verizon and got them to replace it with a new one.

You flashed the .cab file while you had a flag set some where in your /misc partition. To date, I have not found a fix for this as that partition can only be written on once it's mounted in the OS and is not written to by the cab file itself. If anyone finds a fix short of having some LG repair software, I would be impressed.

i see, well I called verizon so i should be getting a new one within the hour. for some stupid reason i saw online that the vs920 and the p930 (or something like that) were the EXACT SAME PHONES and that crossing roms should (in theory) work successfully. only to find out that my phone bricked so hard. i just wish there were programs for all phones EXACTLY like the ones for the HTC hd2 because there is no way you can brick your phone or if you do, there are programs that force flash it and they work %100 of the time unlike this stupid lg update tool.

Dont be mad at lg because you experimented with something that you should have known would screw your phone up. I'm not trying to be rude but really you should stick to the directions and I don't recall ever seeing a thread which said flashing roms for other phones is ok. It's like all these people trying to flash different roms through rom manager when there is no thread that exist anywhere which says that is possible for our phone.

Don't you think a dev or someone would create a thread on this forum or another about how they successfully flashed a rom from a another phone if it's possible? A little advice...stick to the instructions giving to us on these threads about how to flash roms and whatnot and you will not brick your phone. I've yet to even have a bootloop with my spectrum and I've done at least a dozen or more flashes and rooting and installing recovery and zips.

Had you read any of my posts, you'd know nothing could be farther from the truth. The lib files in the spectrum are totally different than the Nitro, so bin kangs don't work and setting up a device rep for a compiled build takes a ton of work. I've found LG phones aren't like Motorola where files are generally the same... They're all different.

Thats part of the reason why most moto phones are CM supported and few LGs are. That and LG sucks.... but thats another subject so... lol
