A few months ago, i saw Majesty 2 on Steam's daily deal. It looked interesting, being that its a top-down medieval-fantasy type of game. So i bought it with no intention of ever playing it. I installed it 2 weeks ago. I played it for the first time a few days ago, and i was amazed impressed by how fun it is.
For those of you that never heard of it, its a medieval-fantasy strategy simulator. You build your castle, and buy heroes. You cannot control the heroes, but you can put a flag (explore, attack, defend) and give it a reward of gold. Heroes will wonder around, fight foe, open treasure chests, and go to the flags if they want to, or if the reward is high enough.
The thing that i like most is its not just a game where you tell each unit where to go and what to do. You have almost no control over them, yet each hero has its own character. They choose their own items from looting, and buy potions from your shop. Clerics will heal nearby heroes.
One scenario from my last game was i had a warrior attacking a bear den. A bear came out and went after my warrior, so my warrior attacked the bear. My warrior came close to dying, but luckily one of my clerics was nearby, and kept healing my warrior! Frickinaws...impressive!
